What to do, when you were fooled by Sasha Cohen's "Borat" character during filming for a movie that's now become the smash hit comedy of the year?
Whine! Complain! Cry foul! And, above all: SUE!!! Listen, dipsticks. Cohen may have played you for suckers, but it takes two to tango, and ultimately if you look like an asshole and it's captured on film, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOOKING LIKE AN ASSHOLE. Or a moron, or a dweeb, etc etc etc. So far we've had the frat boys and the "joke" instructor sound off about being duped. Now the entire Romanian village which passed for Borat's home town is griping and threatening legal action! Apparently they're upset and are considering litigation. Their mayor claimed that "We are suing because they were not truthful". Meanwhile, locals reacted to the journalists by threatening them with sticks, pelting their cars with rocks, and, in one case, slapping a female family member for appearing in the movie, and locking her inside to keep her from talking to reporters. Yep, the film is clearly way off base. "Borat" could be accused of picking on the poor... if it wasn't for the fact that it picks on the rich, supposedly "civilized" western lifestyle as well, exposing the hypocrites and the sanctimonious and the downright racist for who they really are. Everyone's a potential target. No-one's on so high or so low a pedestal that they're not fair game. If you got punked.. DEAL WITH IT. In the end, no-one made you bring up "not!" jokes. You did that shit on your own :(
