I work outside from 6 am until 2 pm, and not very hard. I don't know what everyones complaining about. put on enough clothes and stop whining. it's really not the end of the world. besides, it's supposed to rain again by the weekend. Personally I'd rather deal with sub-zero temperatures than 3 degrees and raining.

And by the way I grew up here so being aclimatised doesent really mean shit. I work with a bunch of Costa Ricans and some of them were in lighter clothes than me and were warmer than I was.

Let's settle this once and for all.

On this planet, humans inhabit places with a wide range of typical temperatures. In some of the coldest places in the world, temperatures are regularly below minus 20, minus 30, etc. In some of the warmest places in the world, temperatures are regularly in the 40s during the warm times of the year.

All values celcius.

NOW, to someone who has no familiarity with temperatures anything less than 10 degrees or so, 10 degrees would feel "cold" to them, or at least cool. Same goes for vice versa. We here in Vancouver, however, are uniquely positioned to determine what is or isn't cold or warm, because we live in such a temperate climate. Particularly before global warming reared its ugly head, Vancouver experienced neither extreme highs or extreme lows with any regularity.

Basically, to quote Scott Thompson, "We're the porridge Goldilocks chose!"

Therefore, when a Vancouverite says "It's cold", then that applies to both her personal climactic sensibilities, AND the proper definition, by global average, on the whole.

Basically what I'm saying is, (and this is hardly the first time), Hardstylin, stfu. Residing in a freakishly cold place skews your senses away from the norm, and leaves you unqualified to decide what is "cold", on the whole.

PS ---> A bout of stomach flu probably wouldn't kill me either, but I wouldn't enjoy it and I'd certainly be coming on here to bitch about it.

i like it. alot. just a case of putting on the proper gear and your set.

i like the feeling of breathing in the cold air....its like a zest comercial or something...refreshing.

ive spent ALOT of time in steamy,sweaty,grimey tropical jungles and rainforrests over the last few years....so to me this is pretty enjoyable.

Actually, I don't! That's why I'm wearing three pairs of socks.

I find they're good for your typical Vancouver winter weather.. say, between 3 and 10 degrees and raining constantly. For the week or two where we get atypical winter weather, I just put up with them. But yeah, I was wishing they were insulated today.

I picked up these the other day, they are not steeled toe. but they are so warm and comfortable. Perfect for outdoor weather , snow/ ice good to -30/-40. Marks work wearhouse has some good shit

I went sledding last night. cant do that with out snow..

I actually am enjoying the weird weather we've had all year... We had a REAL summer this year and by the looks we might get a semi REAL winter. I was considering moving to the Okanogan in the future because of how nice there summers and winters are, but maybe I wont need to.. I just really enjoy being able to go the beach and snowboard with top weather conditions...
It is taking a while to get used to... You need proper gear out there...I was freezing with cotten mits and skate shoes....

That's BS! I moved from there too, 3 years ago. And I find it cold. Yes, I've lived through worse, but it takes you maybe a year to get used to the climbate here.

it may have been cold in the morning, but in the afternoon it was warm.
