My empty Ipod Shuffle

I got a shuffle for Christmas and loaded it up with tunes and it worked
I realized I was using the old iTunes, so I updated and from then on the music will not play on my Ipod
It's on there, it's in the right format, itunes says it's updating, but when I press play it makes the flashy lights to say it is empty
we have uninstalled and reinstalled and it's still not working
it costs like 40$ shipping back adn forth to send it to Apple......so I just stare at it hoping a solution will somehow present itself

There is SO much to read online on this subject, hopefully someone here has actually dealt with and fixed this problem.

To add to the description, I checked the disk itself in explorer, and it is indeed getting the music from itunes onto the shuffle.... but unplug it and push play, and you get the blinky orange/green lights of death. (error=no music loaded)

I've done the "reset, retry, restart, reinstall, restore" TOO many times.

yeah my shuffle stopped recharging.........

lame.........

so i got a SLVR..........and thats working for me..........but now i want a chocolate..........or steal my bf's ipod.......

omg i had a dream last night that i came over to your appt and asked to see your ipod shuffle to see if it really didn't work........and it did work, but i wasn't able to change any of the songs.....it just kept playing one after the the other..........

i didn't dream a way to fix it :(

but i did have a second dream about this puppy eating some poisenouse plant and dieing...and its kinda creepy i had this dream a while ago....

i think the only way to fix the ipod is to get a new one... :(
