Assuming I'm a "Raver"
Alrightys, so yeah, well I guess I am a "raver" but jeebus I hate it when people judge me on that stereotype.
Like for instance today: One of my classmates drove me home. And in his car we were listening to Hip Hop, then he was like "Oh, wait you're a "raver", you don't like this stuff (which I do)." , and he says " wait, I have your type of music. And you know what he puts on?! - Frickin' bangin' Hard Ass House! Like .. ewwww That is not what I liten to, ok buddy. I then pulled out my Hirshee CD and popped that into the player, and showed him what real music I listen to. Yeesh. All in all, the guy is great, and I know he meant no harm. Just yeah, just b/c I "rave" does not mean I like that music. (Also in no way did I mean to dis. Hard House/Trance. I just really really REALLY prefer my breaks and funky disco) plur

ya.. i hate being judged as a raver..
stupid thing is my band is always like "oh you dont listen to this stuff anymore do you (like greenday, or radiohead etc etc)?" and i obviously do. weezer and trance are like on the same level of drool-ness for me. *LOL*

You go to raves, people are going to assume you're a raver.
You go to Alcoholics Annoymous meetings, people are going to assume you're an alcoholic. And so forth. If it really bothered you, stop selling rave tickets at your school. Boofucken' whoo... the guy is giving you a ride home for fuck's sake. OMG!! HE'S ASSUMING I LISTEN TO HARD HOUSE~ WHAT A CROOK OF SHIT! I thought ALL Asians listened to Hard House... damn.

I'm not really bothered by the "raver" thing. It's the idea that "we" only listen to 'bangin' hard house trip out type of muz-ik' And I don't sell tickets at my school, thanks. And I'm only HALF Asain, OK.

..but what is so wrong with ravers who listen to thumpy hardhouse anyways? All different peas of the same pod.
I remember being in highschool and having laramy fatboys in all sorts of neat colours. I also remember being one of the only people who partied at my school. I have rather fond memories of people asking me how much jib I did on the weekend, and if I had slept yet on Monday mornings.. ahh..memories..heh

u should all see my volleyball team dancing to sandstorm and their bev impression. oh i luvvvvv it. i dont get offended by it..cuz i know if i ever take them to a rave they'll luv it.

hmm.. I dunno if you've fully understood my point. It's just - he stopped all music thinkning I didn't groove to it, and ONLY "hardhouse" is what I like. Like just because I "rave" does not mean that is what I only listen too.
I don't mind people assuming or what not about me as a "raver". Hell I am a Rave.

People just don't understand the music unless they're exposed to it. When was the last time you heard some good bangin' house, dnb, or breaks on the radio? Practically never. It's a whole other world and people just go by what they know.
I always get non-raver folks asking me what this and that "techno" song is. Just laugh it off, or take them to a good party and show them what it's really about.
