Grapes: No, if Toronto won the cup, TSN would be going on about it for years. Not weeks. And so would SportsNet, and CBC because their all based in Toronto.

At least the Canucks fans boo and harass the other teams. Try watching a Montreal game when they are losing if you want to hear the fans boo the home team.

I don't see any big trades happening, not with the cap these days. The Canucks don't really have anything to give away for a rental player without giving up one of the big names. I honestly don't think they would get much for their first round pick since it will pretty late in the round and bourdon really isn't worth anything at the moment. At best you would get a prospect for a prospect.

Ya cause, Canucks fans never boo their own team... Never...

Also, keep in mind how geographically close to other NHL cities Montreal is.

That has nothing to do with it, everyone knows that Montreal is the hardest market to play in due to it's fan base and it has nothing to do with how geographically close they are to other teams. Only when they play Toronto can you see a divided crowd. There is a reason they have a hard time signing players.

I'm sorry but the Canucks fans do not boo the home team nearly as much as they do in Montreal.

No, they just cheer for the other team instead.

I've heard Canuck fans shit on their own team way more often then I've heard Montreal complain about theirs.

Also, Montreal sells out every game.

lol, I thought shitting on the leafs was every hockey fans favorite past time outside of Ontario :) As much as I hate them and as much as they suck this year, I still enjoy watching a good old Montreal vs Toronto game.

You guys remember that old children's book about the kid who wanted a Canadiens jersey but got a shitty Leafs jersey instead? Classic.

Hating on the Leafs goes back decades.

Looked pretty damn good against Detroit tonight!.. sans Lidstrom and Hasek though..

Currently 13 points behind. Way to make up ground. Still, you're a whopping 3 points clear of LA for the dubious distinction of worst team in the league. Hopefully you can outpace them down the stretch.

Ahhhh life is good

Nearly a century actually.

Back in the day, Mauriche Richard was how Quebec separatists got their one-uppance on the english loyalist pigs. Then when the Canadiens started to suck, they started having referendums....

Canada: The only nation in the world whose national unity is threatened by poor hockey performance.

Raymond is an exciting young player.

Ritchie is the biggest non factor on our team this side of Brad Isbister.

I'm loving our team speed right now.. Kesler and Burrows work really well together. The number of turnovers created by that pair's speed, tenacity and good sticks this season is through the roof.

Our defense is finally getting healthy.. if we can get the reliable Aaron Miller back, we'll have that Ohlund, Edler, Bieksa, Salo, Miller, Mitchell 6-pack that, combined with our goalie, could take us DEEP into the playoffs.

:D Canuck life is good again

what a difference a few weeks make.

Oilers only 3 points back of both the Avs and the canucks, with 5 to play. 15-3 over the last 18 games, with the rookies lighting it UP. The line of Gagner, Cogliano and Nilsson have a combined 46 points during that span. In the unlikely event they actually *do* make the playoffs, I certainly wouldn't want to face them in the first round. And if they don't, well, Oil fans will be counting the seconds until next season starts.

canucks come storming out of the gate last night, only to have Iginla and the Flames completely take control in the second and third; bad penalties, sloppy sloppy play, combined with no heart are their undoing. Apparently Larscheid has switched his man-crush from bobbi lu to Iggy, much to the fans' chagrin. And what the hell is wrong with Bieksa???

the next week and a half are going to be super entertaining.

Tommy basically just got disgusted with our lack of heart and grit, and decided if you can't say anything nice, you shouldn't say anything at all. Unfortunately, it's his job to talk for the duration of the hockey game, so he had to talk about Calgary's players.

Couple of weeks ago I was considering just throwing in my membership as a Canucks fan entirely, after we (inevitably???) gave up our 3-0 lead against Dallas. Suffice to say I've come to some unfortunate conclusions about this team over the past couple of weeks.

I don't think we have what it takes to win the Cup.. and not even in the sense that some teams magically get hot late in the year and go on an amazing run (a la the 94 version).

With this core group of players it'll never happen. They aren't clutch, they panic when the chips are down, they aren't physical enough.

I doubt I'll ever really get away from being a Canucks fan, but I think my alleigance is in vain until there's a complete overhaul of our hockey team.

Guys I 100% wouldn't want to see leave:

Luongo
Mitchell
Ohlund
Salo
Kesler
Burrows
Edler, pending further development

That's it.

And as for Bieksa, I don't want to see that trainwreck suit up for any of our remaining games THIS year, let alone next year. Put Bourdon in, I don't give a shit.
