I honestly don't think there is a certain ammount of excusable fuck-ups. Drinking or Drugging isn't the problem, as long as the performance doesn't suffer.
The minute these guys start compromising their performance for their own personal reasons just shows a huge lack of professionalism. It's a competitive business out there. There really isn't a whole lot of room to be a fuck up.

Sure, some big name talents can afford the occasional night of lackluster effort because they have the security of an established career. One night won't be enough to completely tarnish their rep. It's still not a good thing tho, the fans pay attention.

Lesser known DJs are only sacrificing their own careers/audience by acting a douche when they're supposed to have their game faces on. The audiences aren't stupid, word will spread. Next thing you know there will be another classifieds add on FNK for the local dj who needs to get rid of their setup.

no its not ok - it is very unprofessional and the only DJs that should be able to get away with it once in a blue moon are DJ's who have already built a very solid reputation – even then, if it was my $ being spent on the booking I wouldn’t be willing to take that risk.

i meant that people watch what you do more closesly if u were playing infront of crowds than saying being a bedroom dj. I never said anything about having to look physically good. But maintaining a respectable image to your fans.
