Clerks at EB Games

Saturday, I rolled out of bed and decided to get lunch with my roomate and do some banking. As I was walking by Pacific Center Mall, I decided to stop by EB games and see if there were any games I wanted to pick up.

While I was there I remembered reading a review on a PS2 game that had come out that week. I was sort of interested in trying it out so I took a look for it. When I couldn't find it on the shelf i decided to ask the three clerks sitting behind the counter.

"Do you have Persona 3:FES? I think it came out this week."

"Did you pre-order it?"

"Uh, no."

"Well then obviously I wouldn't have any, jeez."

I'm sorry I didn't break into your fucking store at night, and read over your incoming shipments. Otherwise I would have realized that you were only getting a couple in. I figured you would stock it!

Why the fuck do some EB Games guys power trip? I don't think that when I worked in retail I was ever such a dick. It's a simple fucking question. Do you have X in stock. Yes or no. Not every single person knows how many of X game is being released.

I wouldn't have cared so much if this was the first time. For example, when my brother bought an xbox. The clerk lectured him on how the PS2 has more japanese releases and RPG's.

I'm not going to pre order from you EB. I've pre ordered twice, and you fucked it up both times.

When I bought my DS the guy wouldnt stop trying to sell me a pink one.

The guy kept telling me I looked more like "someone who would enjoy a pink DS better." umm wtf?!

If I wanted a pink one I would have picked up a pink one. But no, I want a black one. Hence why im holding a Black DS.

Now STFU, ring me up and Ill be more then happy to go buy all the games needed to play my new BLACK DS at Future Shop.

Cant say i've ever had a problem with the guys at EB downtown.

They have to deal with a lot of shit, when I was picking up dark sector a month ago. Walked in, asked them for it, as he was handing me a copy. A call comes into the store, then yelling and screaming started. The rep got pissed off and hung up on him. I asked him what the problem was and he said that this caller has been calling every 10 minutes for a game that hasnt been released yet. Like, obviously the caller was pretty retarded.

Then another time, I was in the store and this old lady, who obviously wanted some cock was asking all these stupid questions and just being annoying to not only staff but customers. Thank god for headphones, I would've told the c u next tuesday to fuck off.

Those guys deal with a lot of shit.. I dont ask questions, I call ahead of time to see if a game is there.

But, I'm not one to take shit, and I surely hope you gave him a good talkin' to rather than hit an online forum to voice your complaint, even if it was a comment related to his nerd-ism like, "i'm sorry they called you in to work, no real life role playing for you... please dont take your anger out on me"

Seriously, if i worked at EB, i probably would've shot that place up... idiots, screaming kids, annoying customers...

but to add, i was about to walk in to eb to trade games for GTA today, probably about 40 people lining up, just imagine the type of BS these two guys are going to endure.

I personally haven't had any problems with EB clerks because I know how to speak
a) geek
b) gamer
c) clerk

I have seen a fair number of instances though where they've been complete jerks to customers. But usually I can find the one point that the customer says something where I wince and think to myself "Yeah, she gonna get it!"

Also, the one downtown gets better service than the ones in the 'burbs I find. That could really be said to be true for most chains though.
