ive lived in clearbrook all my life and it has gotten alot better the past few years in terms of quality of living. intense amounts of development going on and some pretty decent commercial being put up. it pretty much sucks ass here untill you are of age and acn drive other places. the high school bunch are bored to the point of tears though... i drove past the skate park and the little punks... get this... organized a 'makeout party' there was like doesens and doesens of kids at the skate park gettin their freak on... like really we are hurtin for things to do for these kids. no wonder they are all borderline drug addicts.

if you put aside the murder capital part of it, its actually not as bad as people will tell you. at least we can go downtown without fear of getting mugged. not to mention our female population doesnt think of sweatpants and uggs as fancy clothes.

as for surrey, i work there and thats more than enough for me. i cant even drive through without feeling like i need a tetnis shot. so imo its a step down. i cant stand being in surrey.

And as someone who lives downtown, I think you're talking out of your ass if you think there are constant muggings down here. I've never been mugged in the city or even been worried about it. Generally the thugs live in the burbs.

As for the sweats and uggs comment I have no idea what you're talking about.

i am and ill tell you that the construction here is no different than anywhere else. infact most crews and developers work everywhere from northvan to osoyoos. most development is on the same standards as a whole. you have good rational points with your other stuff, but maybe just stick to things you actually know about, k? just for your own good.

no, i wasnt getting at an easy hit for surrey. I grew up in White Rock and if I still lived there, I probably wouldn't know Vancouver all that well. Luckily enough I've lived in Vancouver for 8 years and do not consider it a city with zero character and feel that my opinion is supported by experience, is all.

The best part about vancouver are the parts that aren't technically part of the city itself - i.e. the mountains, scenery, beaches, closeness to nature.

But as far as an actual "city" goes in terms of culture, character and the like - it's definitely lacking in a ton of areas.

As jim mentioned I grew up I'm Vancouver and while it is a physically nice place, it is severly lacking in character. It is just to new of a city.

My point was that the whole surrey thing gets old, and there are better cities out there than Vancouver. The surrey Vancouver thing comes up just as much as the mac vs of debate.
