being fucked over for a grant for school

ok so heres the story:

when i went to go apply for school and got accepted, we (as in my and the director of admissions for trebas) filled out my student loan application form.

it came to the part where i could apply for a grant...
in order to get a grant the qualifications are as follows:

you had to have gone to another school for 8 months and had been full time.

i was.
i asked him about this just to make sure cuase i didnt want to have anythiong wrong on my application...

i had three courses for two semesters at kwantlen...
that equals full time

he told me...no four courses eqauls full time...i questioned him again and he was adament that it was four courses.

so whatever, i didnt think it was right, but thought that maybe i was wrong...so i didnt think anything of it.

so last nite i layed awake for a couple of hours thinking about this....and i couldnt sleep cause i realized that he was completely wrong, i read thru all my student loan stuff
today i contacted kwantlen...and yes only THREE courses a semester is considered full time.

well now if i try and apply for a grant its going to delay my student loan application and i wont get my student loan in time and i may not be able to go to school.

so now i have to wait until my student loan is approved and then i have to do an appeal saying that there was a mistake made on my application ...can i please have a grant as well.

what makes me mad is i NEED that grant. right now my student loan money gives me around 400 bucks to live a month...
thats supposed to include rent, food, transportation. etc etc...good fucking luck

even if i work (and i'll only be able to work 16 hours a week) thats like an extra 400 bucks or so a month...
ok so thats now 800 bucks...


but what happens if i find that i cant work because of a huge course load? what happens if i cant find anyone to live with and i have a huge rent to take care of?

if i got a grant i would have an extra 137 a week!!!! which would be just perfect...
i could go to school and not have to worry about working.

my buddy here has to wait 3 more weeks to get his money cuz they fucked up something on his loans too.. hes soooooo broke and he has to eat our food

hmmm...at least you get a grant...my bro and I have been going to school for a long time...we live on our own and support ourselves and we both get kick ass grades...yet we are the only two people that we know who have never ever gotten a grant...(which would be exceptionally useful since UBC is looking like it will raise my tuition by $600 this summer after having already raising it in September...AND after the student loan assessment of needs has already been done!!! All cause they don't know how to budget properly...grrrrr!!!!) :finger:
