it ends arguements, but it doesn't help the community in general. Now several people seem to have a grudge against me, and had the "Case of the disappearing thread" thread been allowed to go on, those grudges may have been settled. But meh, i really don't care about those people anyways. I might see them at a party once every 2 or 3 months, and i don't have to talk to them.

see we could put on a full out "war on flaming" here on FnK but that would be stupid, and it would become a daycare for internet addicted ravers. on the other side we (admins/mods) could let everything pass and flame, flame, flame and we would be just another lx or xtcity ..err ed. so we try to filter out certain threads we see unfit and inappropriate. two members who have no connection to each other flaming back and forth is simply stupid, if you gotta problem with someone flame them on MSN, through e-mail or use the private message system. there is just no need to flame here on FnK, just as theres no need for whine threads..

I find it kind of weird the thread was closed for 'profanities and name calling' and not the fact that someone has an adimant disrespect for the value of human live....

As the main admin on this board, don't you feel it would be right to lead by example??

By that I mean you say above that uselessly flaming someone you probably don't even know on this board will not be tolerated, and then at the end of your post I see you doing exactly that in your remark about Ninjaboy.

I could be interpreting your post wrong, but to me it seems like your just contradicting yourself.

I do apologize if my sarcasm did not transmit well via the internet.

I closed the thread because it was going nowhere, the point of "you are just a stupid putz for doing what you did" was more than clear enough and the other party did not seem to care at all.

If this was a valid arguement where decent points are raised by BOTH sides, not just a one sided arguement as I saw it becoming, then I would have left it alone.

If I am wrong in my decision then let me know and I'll be more than happy to reopen the thread.

and myles, that wasn't really a flame war...i recall doing any name-calling in that thread even though people called me asshole and whatnot in almost every post. I love how people are trying to act all mature and argue with me, yet still resort to childish namecalling
