when your work LOSES your pay check and you have to wait 3 weekss for a new one...
so i worked all christmas break. I got home on a saturday night and i worked my first shift the next morning and worked pretty much everyday till i left Van. they said they'd mail my checks. they haven't. so i phoned them and they don't even HAVE my checks. so they took another week to phone me back and tell me it's gonna take another 3 weeks for them to re-issue the checks. and we're talking close to a 1000 bucks...it's not like 200 or like 300. i need the money. i don't think they understand. like...i have to eat. i just paid 3000 for this semester's tuition and residence fee. so i have around...160 bucks to last me for 3 weeks :(
i hate my old job. they're all fucking stupid ass bitches. -s

did you go and REMIND them about your 8 hour shift? they always shortchange people. i always used to write down my hours cuz like it makes a difference...

but it's a big corporation. like the head office here on BloorStreet in toronto is dealing with it..and then has to send it back to Van and then send it to me? it's stupid. there's not MUCH the store in Van can do right? or i could be totally wrong??

BEST part of the gap inc pay stubs are at the last folded side...."non negotiable". they paid me less than what i should get for one of my shifts..but since it was NON FUCKINGOTIABLE...i couldn't do anything about it.
sammy..are they even allowed to do that?! what if ure payin rent or some shit? im sure theres some instant thing you can do. good luck.. i hope you have foodddd! i'll fedex you some food if you need any.

it is negotiable...trust me. i've done it MANY times before. you need to be really careful with holiday pay, overtime, etc etc cuz they always try to low ball you.
trust me bev, you should talk to your store manager or phone head office.

I've started writing in additional times that I work all in caps lock and hilighting it with many colours so they'll 'notice' and pay up.
Sometimes it's not much that they 'forget' to pay me, but it's the concept of it all that bugs me- it's my time, pay me pls thx.

I hate it when they screw up paychecks. Like my last work.. it's one of the reasons I quit.
They fucked up one paycheck, then I never got what I was supposed to and they fucked up the next one. In the end they fucked up 6 paychecks in a row. The one paycheck i saw anything on (which was owed from others) was one with 5 hours. BUT THEN IT WAS MISSING ANOTHER 8 HOUR SHIFT. I never did get the money either. Gah. Hope you get the paycheck soon sammy, and hope you have enough food!! that's kinda harsh. Ask your parents to send you some money or something :P

as they're a big company, they can't expect to get away with shit like this, nor expect it to be a non-issue. but, since they're a big company they probably don't. more than likely someone fucked up, and no one wants to take the blame. internal inefficiencies do the rest by delaying payment. though, government inquiries tend to make things work a lot quicker.
talk to ontario's version of labour relations. you'd probably get your cheque by the end of the day. ask for accrued interest too.

really??? k i'll look into it this afternoon. i didn't think there was much I nor anyone could do about the time it took for the whole process. you's a smart boy, dale!
yeah the fucked up thing is, that you actually swipe your card when you start your shift and swipe again when you finish your shift so i don't see WHERE all these "mistakes" happen..all i know is that they happen WAY too often.
