breaking a nail

Okay this has got to be one of THE girliest things to bitch about, but I just broke a nail and it really pisses me off. It broke right down at that part where the nail attatches to the skin (is there a name for that?), so there is NO way I can save it.
I don't want to sound stuck up, but I have nice fingers, and really long nail beds, so when I grow out my nails they look super long and sleek. And when one of them breaks off, I have to cut them ALL off or else it looks stupid and uneven.
I've gotten so used to putting my hands down on a hard surface and hearing that *click* from my fingernails. Now I'm just going to hear a fleshy *thud*

I usually cut the other ones down, but not to the same length as the broken one. Then, they aren't so short and it doesn't look so bad. I can't stand short nails, especially the thumb nails, on me. It feels weird, and there's just things I can't do when my nails are really short. (Like open pop cans.. though I usually do that with my teeth anyways, they're stronger! hehe)

I hate it even more when they break like below the line where the nail attaches to the skin and so it really hurts and sometimes bleeds.


The good thing though, is that they do grow back. Also, you're are real so they grow back for free.. :P hehe You don't have to pay to go get them fixed by someone else!

I have nail cutters and a nail file in my purse at all times just incase this happens.

yeah dude, those press on nails aren't as tough as the real thing.

I did't say they were a replacement for the real thing.

I just thought they could be used for that one broken nail so you don't have to shear off the other ones to match.

i had the funniest ditzy teacher last year and she broke her nail...so she stopped the lesson for the day because she was upset and didn't want to write on the board

When one break u gotta cut em all or it will look weird.. and it hurts when u break it close to the skin. *ouch* Its all bout the nails... well not really ... as long as they look good :)

i dont know how you girls can grow nails! ive never grown my nails before because of sports and crap. im gonna get some acrylic nails done in 2 weeks...thats when my whole highschool sports career ends...so i can be as big of a girlie girl as i want. its gonna be so weird to hear myself say "OH I BROKE A NAIL..aahhh" *does a hair flip*

Hmm.. if you get acrylics, just make sure they're not too long! =)
I've seen some girls who leave em too long and too long makes them look ugly.. especially on small girls.
