stupid motherfucking student loans

i am so fucking pissed off right now

on feb 21st i went to the post office to cash my student loan...i was told it would take about 5 to 7 business days...

the money still isnt in my account...and its been almost 2 fucking weeks..

i have 30 dollars in my account right now and i still need to pay for gas, and books and to get to school and all that.

so student loans calls me yesterday and i called them back today and they needed me to confirm the amount that was taken outta my student loan for the next 6 months.

thats it.


now i have to wait another fucking 5-7 business days for them to put the money into my goddamn account.


you think they woulda called a little earlier...considering they know i am a student...and that i need the money.
everyone else in my class has had their money since last week.
how come im the only one they didnt know about?

I feel your pain. Same shit has happenned to me both times I tried to cash my loan. Both times they acused me of giving incorrect account information. Even though the second time i got the bank to fill in the form for me.

ive gone a year and a half loan free, i plan to stay like that until absolutly nessecary! Debt sucks!!!!

yeah, the student loans program is pretty shit right now. a wait of 6 weeks *after* attending class is pretty common.

3 years ago, before all the changes happened, it was done pretty much instantly for the grant, and 2 or 3 days for the loan to clear. you'd often have the money in time to get to the bookstore before everyone else. it was neat.

but, you should realy be glad you can get student loans at all. you won't be able to in a few years. resps and bank loans (avec interest) will be all that there is.

I remember a few septembers to go when due to a computer error in the government, everyone's september loans were delayed at least 2-3 weeks.

There was a lot of angry people that year! hehe

I wouldnt know from any personal encounters, but i am sure these student loans suck. But would you rather have no loan at all????? We (our generation) take everything for granted. We bitch and complain about anything possible. In our teen years we will scream for more responsibilities, then when we have to carry through with these, we bitch and complain more. As Cinist would say........"Wheres the acountability?" We have to be acountable to our selves. We have to take things into our own hands. We cant wait for some pensil pusher to deside that you deserve the money....... We need to MAKE it happen.

i am very very thankful that i got a student loan that is enabling me to go to school to do something i fucking love.

im just pissed off that i did everything right...everything that they asked me to do, and they wait almost 2 weeks to get ahold of me to tell me that they need a confirmation of how much is being taken out of the total amount this time.


how hard is it to call me or the school like a week ago?

i just really really need the money i havent even gotten all of my books yet...and now i wont have it for another week to two weeks

and i still gotta pay to get to school...etc etc

i am very thankful...dont get me wrong...

its just hard when i need that money and i cant get at it.

i think half the problem with your lazy student loans department people is that people in general are fucking lazy in BC. Seriously unless people are making money for themselves around here nobody works their ass off. We are a lazy province we would rather ski in whistler then go to work in the winter, we'd rather walk the sea wall in the summer and sip starbucks when its raining. There is NOT a strong work ethic at all in this province. Go to toronto, pretty much everyone is up at 5-6 am how many people do you know that do this here? not as many. People work hard because that is the only way they know how to work else where. here people settle for getting there jobs done. now granted i am high, but i think i am right. we are all lazy little assholes here who smoke chronic and grow weed in our basements. our jobs are mere distractions so the rcmp won't catch on. and this is exactly why your loan has not come through. because the guy who processed your loan is a pissed off goverment employee who pays taxes out his ass and is fed up and has no fucking reason to give a shit whether some young kid gets there money or not. and why doesn't he care about you
? because he knows that in ten years you are going to be fed up from having pay this fucking loan off with a job that probably wont pay much. and then you will be growing weed in your basement competing with HIM!
so i say skip the bullshit, grow weed NOW and make your own money to go to skool so that when you are old you wont be fed up, broke , paying fucking taxes that you resent.

what the fuck are you talking about? no one is taking it for granted. we all realize that it's a privelege that not a lot of people in the world have the right to.

but christ. you'd think they'd at least be organized enough to give us this privilege on time. inefficient beaurocracy is all that's in question here.

I didnt mean the loan per-say.....I ment everything in general. We take eveything for granted. And when sombody starts bitching about a service that is there to help them, then that is taking it for granted.

no it isn't. rather, i'd say that the very act of bitching about a service that does not serve is a sign that one wouldn't be taking it for granted. if they were bitching without a valid reason, then they would. but as long as the student loans program continues to be blundered by inefficient beaurocracy, people have a right to bitch. after all, how can one take for granted a service that doesn't serve, and therefore does not exist?

but oh. you say "in general"? are you sure you meant that, and that you didn't apply your theology on students? there really wasn't a segueway or anything. you pretty much went straight from "bitching about loans" to "lazy bastards". what is one to conclude but that you think people who accept help (which they have to pay back, nonetheles) are lazy bastards? i really don't think there was anything else implied.
