trying to "impress" the opposite sex
I hate when my friends put on so much makeup and get all fancied up because they want to get a guy, if they don't like you the way you are naturally why would you wanna be with them anyway?? I personally hate people who don't act like themselves in order to to get something out of it...
maybe that's just me though.

I think that it's just a confidence thing. I'm sure that they're aware that they can't look perfect 24/7 around one single guy for the rest of their life.., but making yourself look good in your own eyes can boost confidence in oneself. It isn't always just about looking pretty, but also about feeling good/comfortable about the way you look. If you feel you look worthy enough to attract then you probably will have better luck attracting.

Its also a matter of 'putting your best foot forward'...we live in a world where first impressions count...if we went out after simply rolling out of bed, not showering (to look and smell clean); doing hair, make up for girls, getting dressed in an appropriate fashion...etc etc etc...we wouldn't be making our best first impression...we all know that the other person will look like crud as they drag themselves out of bed....we'd like to know that they are aware of it and are willing and able to look like a civilized member of society...

hmm I agree with Courtney, I think getting all dressed up JUST to impress members of the opposite sex is kind of pathetic. I think if anything you should be getting dressed up for yourself.. because YOU want too, not because you don't feel confident in trying to impress a guy without being all done up.

i agree its stupid.. to get a dolled up.. for it.. and yes..acting different just for aguy or anuther person is stupid...but dressing up and looking pretty...well thats more for yourself i think .. i try to get dressed up and look nice.. most the time.. and even when i have a boy friend i still get dressed up and look pretty its kinda of a comlepent for them .. cuz your theirs and your hot.. and when your not.. then they like to look.. but if they dont liek you for who you ar ethen get rid of them ..

i think confidence is the biggest thing.....if you are confident with yourself, then you realize you dont need to act around others......then the other "real ' people realize this and see that they can trust you...hopefully.

I always say less is more.... if a girl can look appealing when you wake up beside her first thing in the morning then she's a keeper. Personally, seeing a chica with a crapload of makeup on makes me think of her as a hoe. It doesn't impress me in the slightest.
A touch up here ot there is great but much more than that is ASS!

i dunno it depends on the girl, like if her mom didnt wear make up than she wont even think about it, but them on the other hand, is her mom and all her friends wear make up than shell be using it just as much as those ppl. and plus if u look good already with a natural look than why bother with make-up :284:
