editors of ion magazine

ive got a copy of ion magazine by the toilet so i read it whenever i #2

anyone else notice the errors in it? not only are there major grammar mistakes, but some of the articles dont even carry on properly onto the next page! you'll be half way through reading a paragraph which doesnt finish on the current page, so you turn to the next page and the paragraph starts again at the beginning? im guessing this was done on purpose so that the entire article would fit evenly on the pages but COME ON! there are other ways around articles not fitting correctly.

humm funny how a free magazine can dissplease you so much. lets stop and think about how long ion has been around... *tick* *tock* *tick* *tock*... ok, times up! about half a year. so they are still fairly new. so your complaning about some gammer, and artical mistakes, thats justified.. but if you can't even type a post out 100% correctly, who are you to rant cuz they did the same in their 70 page free magazine?

you know myles, there's a difference between a post on a message board, and a publicly distributed magazine.

you dont see formal essays with every post do you?

its still a cool magazine though... i love the content and ill still pick up a copy whenever i see one :) just needs a better editor

And I think people that read the mag are looking at the hotties rather than reading the prose.

now this is a free magazine, along with being a new magazine. would you expect them to be pumping out GQ quality print? nope sorry..

they are editors... they are SUPPOSED to make sure that everything is 100% correct .. its their fucking job for christs sake!!

If you're concerned about spell checking or grammar mistakes you could always type up your posts in a program like Word, and then copy & paste into the text box here on fnk.

dude.. seriously produce a 80 page magazine with minor employees and most likely one editor.. its not so simple. I read tones of magazines, from rolling stone, to computer gamming.. I have seen many little mistakes in these magazines over time. they have been around for a shit load longer then ion has, im just sayin cut them some slack. if you would really have such a problem with their magazine I would be surprised to learn you picked up their next issuse the second you saw it.

yeah seriously...i know a couple of people who are workin for Ion magazine. It's not as simple as it looks. Their product is actually a very good one for a free magazine. You guys should acutally be impressed like synx said.

It's not like their employees VOLUNTEER to produce the magazine, they all get PAID. IMO, if you're being paid to do a job, ie. edit a magazine, then you better damn well be doing it properly. Otherwise, give me your freaking job, I could do it better.

well no obviously they dont "VOLUNTEER" as you so kindly shouted. regardless they sure aint backin up the dumptruck to fit all that money they make into the office. I think for the magazine they produce its pretty fucken good. I have picked up small renagade mags downtown you find along robson in little skater stores. they don't have one tenth of the articals, interviews or quality spead that ion has. they do share a few things in common though; they are made by small groups who only want to produce interesting reading material for you the reader.. and two they do it for free.
