ƒORM is on a distinguished road
My parents were the same way bro

I think this can be one of the hardest milestones a kid has to cross when he/she is growing up. I remember the struggle i went through to get my 1st vehicle and let me say it wasn't easy. I bought my 1st low rider 73' Toyota pickup out of my own pocket and it was well worth it. Sure i had some problems here and there but in the end i don't regret buying it. I think parents have a lot to worry about these days and the last thing they want is for their teenage son/daughter to be a statistic.

Top Reasons Why Parents Don’t want there kids driving:
  • Fear of losing you to a drunk driver
  • Costs...inc. Insurance, gas, repairs, upgrades etc
  • Fear of losing you as a son/daughter-Meaning you're never home for family dinner anymore.
  • Fear of you getting yourself hurt in a collision
  • Fear of you becoming a drug dealer
  • Fear of you losing interest in school and routine

I look back now and kind of thank my dad for saying no all those years because if he hadn't....i might have got myself into a pile of unwanted bullshit or be 6ft deep right now.

I think you should keep pursuing it but don't let it get you too mad if they say no for a little while longer.

:320: Happy Birthday DB!!!! :320:

I have to agree with Lex...there are a lot more contributing factors on reasons why parents may be more hesistant to buy their kids a car nowadays. It sux, but you have to realize a lot has to do with "protection" (that's what I think).

Don't be too down about it...Enjoy your birthday...Have fun :Kimmie:

Just be greatful that your parents went that far to offer to buy you a vehicle. Some kids have to work their asses off to buy their own, right?

even tho my parents did promis me that they would let me get a car......and they tell me not to lie...
