Gah! It really bothers me when people talk to other people like they are stupid when they are not. Granted, if someone has proved themselves to be a moron then you may have to talk to them that way but it is when someone is talking to someone else who is relatively intelligent.

examples:

Teachers talking to highschool students like they are in elementary school.

Supervisors talking to employees like they are children.

People talking to older people (60+ yrs) like they are retarded...They are old not stupid!!!! GAH!!!

I have zero respect for anyone who talks that way to people and I find that if people speak that way to me I usually get up and walk away or inform them that I do have a university degree so one could assume that I was intelligent enough to understand what you are saying without being spoken to like I'm an IDIOT!!!

You should have a series of intelligence based tests and obstacle courses in which you carry in your bag. Whenever someone belittles you or says something that threatens your intelligene - break it out and challenge them.

Otherwise, scream something like, "I'LL SEE YOU ON JEOPARDY!"

when people talk to me like that i start talking to them like that, or just give them attitude

a lot of people i work with talk to customers in that annoyingn voice too...but it's more of a 'kiss ass buy something' kinda talk

when me and all my filthy junglists were waiting for the skytrain on new years day morning there were a bunch of punk kids that were at rinse...and they were tormenting this homeless guy. I was fucking disgusted and i tore right into those lil fuck face bastards. It really pisses me off when people treat others...especially people that are going through hard times,like they are less than shit. So many things people fail to take into consideration...all because they were trying to be cool and impress thier lil 12 teen yr old girl friends.
