Night shifts

Don't care how much they pay me, night shifts suck arse! :finger:

Hate trying to stay up for 9 hours and doing 15 minute checks all the way thru my shift. And now I'm a total insomniac and burnt out during the days and can't get anything done.

Why did I opt for this again? Oh right... the money :soak:

the money isn't worth it if it ruins your days your not working... i would rather just have a less paying job that gives me decent hours that i can actually work

I love the night shift, myself. Go in, do work, fuck around since there aren't any boss' watchful eyes around, time goes by so quickly since there is no sunlight to judge the time of day by.Once I'm off of work by 8:00, I've got plenty of time to do things that most people have to wait until after work to get it done.

Oh, and the best bonus of 'em all: The reversed sleeping pattern from working the night shift makes nights out on the town very easy to enjoy without the aid of artificial substances.

How'd you get hooked up with that job so quickly. I was under the impression that you had to put in quite a few years before you could become a nurse manager.

I agree... night shifts suck because they put me in a total disassociated twilight zone state of mind... don't talk to anyone, and the only time I bother to clean myself is when I go to my girlfriend's, which I might spend 6 waking hours with...

i used ta work 10pm to 5am shifts 5 nights a week, i aint never gon do that shit again. horrible lifestyle

Well... when I got started with my company, I had about 3 years of business management under my belt. I just wanted to focus on nursing when I got hired. However, about a month into that, the office had a huge merger going thru, and they needed more people at the office... I was promoted at a interim nurse supervisor. I worked at the office and out in the field.

I'm at a facility that will be shutting down in about 2.5 months, and they needed to delegate someone to be in charge... I got picked, but I got stuck with night shift.

The only thing that sucks about being manager is that you gotta take the slack if your crew flakes out. I got home at 1pm today... from a 11pm shift.

14 hours sucks ASS!

PS... I'm taking the health care management course at BCIT this year
