Dave, you're right, kris is trying to make himself sound like the ultimate small-time promoter, and i've heard him toot his own horn for far too long. you know i'm always going to support you and the things you do.. with that out of the way, you F & K kiddies are obviously in need of a reality check. the world is not plurry, not everyone is happy, conflict is sometimes necessary to solve problems and the internet, and this site, are both microcosms of the world, in alot of ways. keebler, check your head, this is probably the most read section on the board, and dave made a point that needs to be put out in the open for discussion, you say that you only go to parties to have a good time and don't care about promoters.. i personaly don't see how that's possible, because the PROMOTERS are the ones throwing the parties you love, and without them, there would be no scene, (not saying they made the scene, but they are a very integral part of it).. whatever mod bitched about this being in the wrong section: see above. and it doesn't matter which promoter is a nicer guy, it DOES, however, matter which promoter throws better parties, gets more draw, and does it for the "right reasons" (whatever those may be) kirs, sean, i've seen you guys spam, had your site destroy playlists that took me 2 hours to make, and i've never heard of anything WHP from any of my friends that live in the states, abroad, or anywhere outside of vancouver, and you claim to be a global collective? wow, when i was on a cruise in mexico, i played on the boat, and at a club down there.. i'm still not an "international DJ" and i probably never will be.. oh well, there are probably more people in mexico that have heard of me than there are people in (insert "global collective" city other than vancouver) that have heard of WHP.. have a nice day.. |

Sorry Babe, I've never had any contact info for you, I've never did any of the bookings in your way. I've never even talked to you other then when I saw you in person. This is why there was 3 other people working with pulse. Just to put some thing is big text and bold, How can I do it all, How can I contact some one I don't know, and did not book. Why get mad at me, when Rogger, Toney, and Rayn, all knew you better then me, and you talk to them. :D: Hey I'm sorry for the actions of those boys, and if you talk to them tell them to call me,,, not just send small messages to me on ICQ. Crazy Dave: i respect your thoughts and ideas but like i for one am just asking that they could be placed in a sutible area.. now yes the lounge is high traffic but i think we all know that it's for bs topics that we use to kill time.. but to post in the lounge strictly so ppl can see it plus going to every other main board and doing the same is just not cool.. greenwire: by not giving a fuck about the promoters i mean that in a "your probs don't concern mine" sort of sence .. i mean much props go out for the hard work and all but i don't need to know if you have problems with other promoters.. and for the record in case your wondering we're not all "kiddies" here and we do realize that the world is not plurry but we like to keep THIS world, the f&k world as plurry as we fucking can.. and as for leaving the topic open for disscusion, frankly, it wuzn't .. it wuz a statement and it wuzn't left open for disscusion.. it wuz put to make a statement in defence of crazy dave.. this could have easily been settled where it started and didn't have to spill on to otherboards.. Once again I'll say it,,, I was responding to a letter that he send out to a mailing list,,, some thing I could not post to. I could have just left it on Xtcity, and gotten most of the people on that mailing list. But cause of the under lieing message, it was an issue I felt FnK member should know about. I did not post it lounge, cause of the high volume, I posted it there cause it looked like the right place. I had no other motvations. Now I see it should have been in the boxing ring amybe, or left in the lounge. I don't think you need me to re-type that under lieing message. but it was not a bitch, a deffence, or me saying I was better. |

I won't be taking sides with anyone on this issue.... in fact I rarely do...I don't know all the facts to this but I’m sure they're valid on both sides? You can use this board to promote your ideas as much as possible and I will seldom intervene on any of it. If you have a bone to pick...plz try the boxing ring or gripe-a-thon Crazy Dave...I’m sorry that I've never had the pleasure to go to any of your parties...plz let me know when your next show is so I can get my ass to one of them... WHP crew...I've never been to any of your shows either...i didn't know much about the WHP site until a few months ago...I also haven't been paying attention to any arguments that may have been started on other boards... All I know is things take time to mature...there's no harm in thinking big but the problem arises when spoken words don't match projected intentions....false claims and hype can falter ones plans to make it big...choose your actions carefully... I wish both of you lots of luck and hopefully you guys can work out your differences...make yourself at home either way... |

My own events have little or nothig to with what my message is. I started organizing shows, as a form of protest with what the bigger guys where up to. And cause the crocks keep saying I had no right to complain unless i did my own shows. So the fact i do shows, has no baring on what feel about WHP. I'd still do the same as I am now, if I was only deffending all the other promoters in this town that have worked harder and taken less credit then WHP.
All that's being said is from dave the critic, not dave the promoter. Fuck if this was about me trying to get better rep, this really is the wrong way to do it. PS I can not claim I'm non profit, cause the socail change, and new idea's, i try for with my posts, my help, and my events, is a form of profit. |

I commend all efforts when it comes to giving the scene diversity....I also know that throwing non-profit parties requires an entirely different mentality then those shows that bring the masses...as a dj i've spun at both kinds of events and i often witness more smiles at the non-profit parties then I do at the massives...
I think credit is earned over time.....i'm not a fan of people who try to buy credit either... If your doing something positive for the scene it's only a matter of time before people start tuning into your efforts... Over and out... |

You have this really big thing with us making ourselves out to be something special... What you want for us is to feel that we're just like anybody else. Everybody is special.. Everybody wants to be special.. Why dont you just leave it at that. Nobody wants to hear you banter on about "you're just like everybody else, your nothing special, this has all been done before, you're nothing". We've come a long way in a year and we're going to ten times as far as we've come in the past year in the next year. Our team has gone from just myself to 45 people in six cities. Our radio has gone from a simple shoutcast peice of shit broadcast (and I'll be the one to add, which you helped me to test out and I thank you for that help almost a year ago) to a pretty high quality feed with commercial bandwidth and up to 1500 listener capacity, with regular broadcasts from members of our team from Victoria, Vancouver, and Seattle - with Calgary, Saskatoon, SF, and Chicago on the way. I have never lied about statistics... We've come from less than 300 hits in January 2001 on our mainpage to over 12000 today - and sometimes that crappy counter dosent even load. I never had a problem with you. I never wanted a war with you and I never wanted to fuck with you. I just want to work with my team and build something totally global and totally huge based on a concept that I just cant seem to explain to you. You're not alone - other people will never understand until it gains a huge amount of momentum either. But a lot of people do understand, Dave too. I have done a lot of public speaking in my life. Theres a rule of thumb when speaking to groups of people: 33% of people wont like what you're doing and will be critical - you wont be able to change them 33% will be excited about what you have to say and will like what you have to say 33% are undecided or are unsure and wont be in either of the first two because they have other priorities right now You're so completely in the first category that I'm not going to bother to try to convince you. I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing, happy to bump into the second category by being out there and being aggressive and being in front of people. You have upset me personally and professionally not because I think that you're a fuck, but because I am doing my own thing, minding my own buiness, and you are spending a tremendous amount of energy trying to attack me, and put me in my place. I never wanted a war, and every time I do something I have to admit, I have absolutely no regard for what you think about it at all, in fact I dont really care.. Its not because I dont think you're worth it, but I know that you are in the first category listed above - theres no way I can change you - or your friends who feel the same way you do, for that matter. If I post promotions in a promotions section of a board.. If its a Wickedhouseparty Post and you're so aggrivated at what I post - why do you read it? If you know its the "same thing everyt time" and that "kris is so full of shit" why do you take the time to respond? You may try to turn this back at me but it is not an attack on you so it is not worth your time - The reason I respond to you is because your comments negatively impact me, and are immediately next to what I have promoted, so in turn you force me to respond. This is something that you know and understand very well, and I beleive that you do this on purpose in order to bring me out. I have spoken with other people neutral on the subject, including some of your close friends and they explain to me that this is what is happening. When you make a promotion, for example: "Ambient Played on Shoutcast" - do I jump in there and say: "Crazy Dave's feed sucks! He's running on Telus ADSL and the absolute best upstream potential he can get is 640kbps and that means that he can only get "X" listners at x quality and..." No, Dave.. I dont. I dont EVER do that. I could, but it just so doesnt interest me that I would NEVER do it. Not even threaten to do it.. And that is, Dave... Mostly because I'm far too busy doing my own thing and working on making Wickedhouseparty better that I not only dont have time, but dont care. This isnt in an insult to you - my time is just totally occupied with something else. I dont really care what you do and when I look in retrospect at what you have done in the past I respect it and think... "Yah, Crazy Dave's been around a while.. He knows a lot of people and has done a lot of little events". Thats why I asked you to join the team... Same with Ishkur and same with some other people who said no. Its you're right to say no and they're right to say no and I'm SO cool with that because it's you and their's choice and you took it. But... the Wickedhouseparty team and I are doing our own thing. And we're gonna keep on doing that no matter what you say. So remember this: "You're either part of the problem, part of the solution, or you're part of the landscape". And since I respect what you have done, I'd like you to be part of the solution - so I asked you to join our team. You declined - so in light of that I wanted you to be part of the landscape. But you seem to want to be part of the problem, posting things around like "Scene Vs. WHP" and "Sick of Kris and his fucking blabla" And I'm trying to work with you to resolve these issues so that doesnt happen and you can be either part of the solution or part of the landscape.. But you just keep trying to be part of the problem. I ask you a question: What do people complain about the scene these days? Do they complain about people TRYING to make a positive impact (whether they are successful or not) or do they complain about people being negative and hateful. I wont answer that question. Again Dave. I dont want a war, I dont have a bone to pick with you and I dont want to "go up against you".. For now I just want you to get off my back. And if you have a suggestion on how we can do better, email it to the suggestion box. A few things WHP,,, I don't go around over stating who and what i am,,, so there's no room for you to make like wise comments. I know my shout casting is 3-5listeners, at 40kbps, and not 24/7, but then again your claming you get 50 per hour on your shout casting,,, sad fact YOU DON'T, I can read the stats page on the stream server(live365). Yes some of your stats are getting better (web, and radio) but there's no where as near as you claim, so your still full of shit, and it's miss leading people. I don't like that type of CRAP in my rave scene. I hate people that get respect from lies and then after a achieves what the claimed with help from the peoples respect. I just think you have to earn it fucking hard and true, cause most of every one else is. To make matters worse, between your bull shit misstruths , and then over promoting it, you've pissed off a lot of people. And have a lot of the people you need to grow big, very pissed off with you. (yes they are nice to your face, but you got to hear the laughter behind close doors, over a few beers). After all I was not the only one trashing you on LX, shit I was not even the worse of it, DID you stop and think why so many angry people? Or have you just dismissed it?
