Guess what! You're not as fast as cars! No, really! I don't care if you have your little riding shorts, and your aerodynamically designed helmets, and grotesquely large calfs. It doesn't matter! You're still not as fast as me and my car!

SO GET THE FUCK OFF THE ROAD!!!

I love watching these guys in front of me at a red light, getting themselves all psyched up to show they can totally hold their own against the cars around them. And then it's green and they're pumpin their legs and pumpin and pumpin and they're totally cylcing fast and then OH SNAP I'm passing them with like inches to spare because otherwise I'm going to be in the other lane and there's another car there.

I think next time I'll try and take'em out with my side mirror.

Those gits on Scooters on Highway 10 and such need to get stuffed as well... just because you have a license plate doesn't mean it's a license to go 40km/h slower than everyone else and create a line of angry drivers (like me) behind them. Nothing like passing them with throttle wide open and the Flowmaster screaming in their faces to put a smile on mine. :)

Do you ever notice how when it's convenient to be a pedestrian they're a pedestrian and when it's convenient to be a car - they act like a car! I've seen 3 bikes run red lights all in the same day! They piss me off! Just because you spent all your money on 8" DH forks and disc brakes and are now stuck riding heavy ass bike around downtown don't take it out on people who have different priorities. Also just because you can afford a $5000 bike doesn't make you cool.

I've been harrassed more than one occassion by ignorant/drunk motorists who think they own the road. I guess it goes both ways, but most drivers are just out to try and scare you and prove some point.

I know I feel a lot more free on my bike to express myself to these select individuals with a staight arm to the side view mirror or a boot the the door panel knowing that they're stuck in traffic and my bike isn't a registered vehicle with a big shiny lisence plate.

I'm sure they're the same people that huck slurpees and beer bottles from their cars when I'm running as well. So I guess it all comes back full circle.

Hmmm...

As someone who cycles everyday and almost everywhere I go I would like to point out a few things:

1)The sidewalk is for pedestrians NOT cyclists.

2) As long as the cyclist is over to the far right then there should be no problem.

3) Unless you're driving a tank or you just really REALLY suck at driving, most of the roads in Vancouver allow for enough room to pass a cyclist (providing they are not in the center of the road) without going into the other lane.

4) Like it or not, when a bicycle is in motion it is considered a vehicle...vehicles belong on the road...

On a personal note, I hate it when drivers honk at me when I am cycling...If you are too inept to be able to pass me when I am on the far right side of the street then you seriously shouldn't be behind the wheel in the first place...

lol you knob I have a bike just for commuting, no disks, no 8" fork. I have ridden my bike to work every day since march. You've got no clue. What I choose to spend my money on is my business.

You're right, all drivers are innocent angels, who are the pinnacle of society and the envy of all us lowly cyclists. In fact, cyclists should pay more taxes for the privlege of using your roads! Sorry for getting in your way!

If you value the trails that you hike everyday so much, you think you would be a lot more supportive of a means of transportation that doesn't damage the environment.

I wouldn't have to act like an asshole if you didn't act like an asshole. You stated that you were going to start clipping guys who got in your way and shit. Action/reaction. I'm sure you feel tough clipping guys with your sideview, that's a classy move. Try that shit with me and expect a call from the RCMP if I can't catch you, otherwise I've already told you what might happen. Running into people isn't cool, dude.

Anyways, the real problem lies in the lack of city planning, incoporating bike lanes 10 years ago would have solved a lot of these problems. Things are very slowly getting better, but they still suck. Attitudes like yours aren't helping the situation either.

sorry bout that i was just venting it wasn't directed at you but bikers in general. This last Friday,this ass on a Rockey Mountain RM7 with a full face helmet and body armour plowed into the side of car while was at a stopped at a stop light. He came out of mall parking lot trying to show off to all the people on the patio at Earls. Funniest part was getting out of my car and he starts yelling at me for being in his way then realize's the police car stopped two cars behind me and saw it all.

No worries, I hate those twats too, you don't need a fullface and 16"of suspension to do drops to flat. In the mountain bike world we laugh at them too!
