Mean-spirited gallery comments (Especially from the ladies)

I’m starting to see a growing trend in the Gallery, mostly sided from the ladies here on FNK. Don't get me wrong, I catch guys being real assholes as well. It just seems the ladies find it upon themselves to trash, hate and generally be mean-spirited to posted pictures of other ladies off the site. Most of the time I’m catching it in party pictures but it even goes as far as other ladies personal Member Galleries. The gallery is far to large to moderate without a dedicated team to do so.. I would just hate to have to restrict gallery comments to only FNK Team members.

Ladies are vicious to one another... Maybe no comments on the Gallery is a good idea unless they're from the person posting the pic?

thats a very good point, I did however post that it wasn't completely ladies I had noticed ;)

besides, it wouldn't be a female only comment ban, it would be all registered members (not including, mods/admins/team members)

IMO if someone puts a picture up of themselves for everyone to see, they must be prepared for comments (whether they be positive or negative).
Otherwise, whats the point? Why do you think people are cam-whoring it up and putting countless "seductive" poses of themselves online? They want people to validate their egos. But there will always be the people that don't hesitate to bring them down.
I don't see a problem in gallery bickering. It's just the same as the forum. As long as no one is breaking the rules regarding hateful, racist, threatening, etc posts, then let them do their thing.


BUT if you want to make some changes, Myles, remember I have volunteered from the beginning to be a gallery mod ;) lol

i disagree to an extent - now that our galleries are HUGE i think a lot of peeps are using fnk to host their image and then use that image elsewhere

and even if they are posting the pics in order to get the comments ..OMG you're so hot i wanna do you up the bum..then let them

it doesn't teach the person any sort of lesson...so whats the point of saying it?

i tend to go with myra here...i am WAY more scared of the innappropriate remarks made by 'older' guys to the clearly underaged ladies

I think the best solution to this problem would be enabling an option for the member to allow or disallow comments for their own personal pictures, chosen at the time they upload the photo.
But I don't know if thats possible..

I think that's a good idea. I know on some sites I've seen you can add comments. But it's up to the member to allow other people to see them under the photo. They need to accept them first. But in this case, I think the only person that the member is writing the comment too, is the person accepting them. Although that wont always work, because it's not always the person posting the photo that is in it.

we obviously need a new fnk gallery comment system.

all comments will be submitted on video tape, where the commenter, IRL, tells the commentee what they think of thier saucy, contrasted out webcam/rave/grad pics. only comments submitted in this fashion would be transcribed into text by the gallery princess.

videos could be watched on a payment basis.

$1 for the 'uncomfortable unrequited worship' section
$2 for the 'you didn't look that fat your avatar :(' section
$3 for the 'you didn't look that strong your avatar :(' section

then a large $5 'girls making fun of each others clothes' section which would be split into the following:

sassy disses // sassy disses with snapping fingers // physical confrontations // physical confrontations that end in making out // crying

i third this as a good idea.

that way if the comments are meanspirited the user can turn off the comment option if they want too. problem solved.

i couldn't careless whether we have comment areas in the gallery or not.

but why would you take away everyones privileges because a few people make remarks that you don't find appropriate?

could you not just disallow certain members from posting comments?

a lot of girls are just catty [most often the younger ones, but that isn't always the case.] and they like drama. so they will take comments, which where simply comments and nothing mean-spirited, and just blow the whole thing out of proportion. of course, if they didn't like it they could always just keep their mouths shut, but that goes back to the whole liking drama thing.
