$513.43

how much my books for first term are :(

that was like how much my books for the whole year was last year. i'm taking more courses that require big expensive english/sociology textbooks this year though, whereas last year was mostly smaller novels.

still, so much $$$$!

how is everyone else's book buying going?

ya mine cost me about the same for my first semester when i was at trebas institute...the thing that sucked the most?

i spent all that money...got all my books...my school shut down like 5 weeks later and the place wouldnt take back my books...and its not like books that people in like ubc or sfu or even kwantlen would need for any course

grrr hopefully i'll be able to reuse them next year

^that suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

and i like getting new books! i mean, they're expensive, but i'm looking at all the cool things i'm going to be reading this year and it's exciting me. i'm taking a sociology class that deals with same-sex marraige and like women in society and that should be really interesting :)

i complain because im in a program where all i will receive is a diploma and i feel im putting out too much money for it. if i were getting something more, i would expect to pay crazy prices. plus its not a diploma i can apply to anything but more education... when im done, ill have a pretty peice of paper with my name on it.... but all the same i love it.

I liked the rule of threes Kundera presents for cheating on ones spouse, and the concept of the 'epic womanzier'. Otherwise that book was just "blah, blah, blah..."

I went to Cap yesterday and bought 9 of my books, it came to roughly $170, I still have another 5 to get and those are going to cost 356$ but If I can find them at the Student Union building or somewhere else I might be able to save 30 - 50$.

I never thought that first year college would be this expensive :P
