so im in richmond going to the indoor skate park, driving through the colouasses parking lot when all of a sudden theres a patty wagon behind me with the cherrys on. wtf. i stop they come up 'liscene and registration please',
here yah are, were gunna just inspect some of the stuph onyour car.
so they look at my exhaust, come to me and tell me its illegal, really i say. yah how bout you rev it a few times for us, vroom vroom, oh, well i guess that isnt to loud, but it shouldnt be so big. ummmm ok?? those lights cant be legal either, actually sir they came with a card explaining why they are, here it is, oh, well, i think theres some water in them, yah that happens when it rains. well, how low is this car? i dono but the suspension is fine, oh i see, well ummmmmmm oh your shifter, u know u cant change it right? why not? oh wait nevermind that is alright aswell. well ok then here yah are, have a nice day.

now honestly why the hell did he even bother pulling me over? i know lots of my style cars have illegal shit, but shouldnt he have to see it before stopping me? yargh, at least i live no were near there right?

i went travelling this summer to africa. over there if cops pull u over and you aren't 100 percent compliant. well the next day your friends will own half your car parts they bought for pennies from some dudes truck.

police are allowed to stop you if your vehicle appears too low or if it appears that you have parts which are not approved for safety issues.

Yeah, and Richmond especially.. they are insanely strict about vehicle mods because of all the street racing.

most police dont know whats legal or not anyway, ive heard of cops claiming that strut tower braces were illegal, when the car comes with them stock.

I was pulled over in 99 for a story very close to how you described. My truck is a 1973 toyota hi lux, convertible, slightly lowered with a few slight modifications. It's currently going through a VI to check the mechanical & structural shape. What sucks is they won't give me any form of insurance until it's passed the exam.

Shop around for place until you find a good price.
