assholes who think they know better

so swim season is over for the club that i coach for. all of a sudden i get this lengthy email that has been sent to all members of the club from this one asshole.
before i continue, let me first tell you why hes an asshole : he has a 5 year old son, who basically wasnt that competitive, so i didnt push him. my job is to make the kids happy, and train them. i dont care if they dont get best times, i care if they leave the pool with a smile. anyways, asshole dad approaches me in front of alllllll the other parents. says his son isnt coming to practice anymore. i say i noticed he hadnt been around. he says "aaron doesnt feel good enough" i say "well im pretty sure thats not something he would feel in our practices. our job as development coaches is to develope the strokes, and make sure the kids have fun." he says "oh well my son doesnt think so" i say "ok, well can aaron maybe come to a practice and talk to us? he wouldnt have to get in, just so w can discuss with him how he's feeling. because i would like to know if i am being to hard on the kids." asshole dad says "no i think you should train them harder, make them faster then they he will be better and wont feel so bad"
ive been coaching for 5 years, i have dealt with this type of parent many many times. he expects his 5 year old to be fast, 5 year old isnt, dad gets mad, 5 year old cries, coach gets blamed. no big deal, i shrugged it off.

anyways, so i get this email saying that the asshole dad wanted to make a speech at the annual general meeting and was forgotten. at the agm, my dad made a speech, as he is the announcer for the meeting every year and has been for about 10 years. in my dads speech he commented on the coaches we have had over the years, and the success we have had at provincails and the friendships made... blah blah blah.
asshole emailed his speech to everyone. basically said that the executive had better get there ass in gear and hire a better coaching stafff cause the one they have sucks. (we have an ex-olympian, a national swimmer, a girl who would have been nationals had it not been for injuries, a girl who is regional rep for the coaches, international water-polo coach, and so on. we have one of the strongests staffs....) he goes on to comment how stupid our executive is, that there should be one mass turnover.
its fucking stupid, and not something that i should have read at 2:30 in the morning. now im too pissed off to sleep.
buddy insulted me and my co-workers in an awful way, im too angry to go ino detail. i hate parents like this.
summer swimming is the house league of competitive swimming. yes, many national swimmers are born out of summer, even some olympians, but they go on to further training.
parents like this ruin athletics for kids. 95% of the swimmers in our club do it because its fun and they have friendships, not because of the compitition.

i hate parents like that - I get them at the pool all the time and I only teach aquaquest lessons. Its amazing how much pressure parents will put on their kids just to fulfill some lost dream or something.

Preschool parents are the worst. I need a shirt that says - the canadian olympic team called and the really need your 3 year old to start improving so we have a shot at the gold this time.

Outrageous.

i just started teaching aquaquest this year (finally putin my wsi into action) an so far i have wonderful parents. its a biiig difference. i donno what i'd do if i had parents like that during lessons.
