I know everybody probably slips a 'white lie' in every once in awhile, and I suppose it's cool if it doesn't harm anyone.

What really gets me is the totally fucking obvious lie. Like, something that was absolutely unbelievable even to begin with- you'd really have to be an absolute moron to actually BELIEVE the story. These lies hurt, because you feel like the liar must really question your intelligence to make them think you'd actually believe it. I'm really not 'into' having my ego bruised just because someone's got a hard time 'fessing up.

Seriously, in those cases, it's much easier to hear the truth.

Lying like that is gambling it seems.... it's pathological... you want to stop but you figure the only way to get out of your precarious position is to lie some more.

Soon they build and build and build. Eventually they're unmanageable, and you lose the lying game. Then good luck rebuilding trust with your friends.
