CNN's Tucker Carlson

I don't know how many people on here follow any sort of politics, but if you do I'm sure a few of you know who Tucker Carlson is. He's a US Republican advocate/pundit who is best known for his role on CNN's Crossfire where he faces off on issues against a Democratic advocate.

Anyways, yesterday, in the midst of the Bush visit to Canada, Carlson was on with Wolf Blitzer and Canadian independent MP (former Liberal) Carolyn Parish.

For those of you who don't know who Parish is, she is the Liberal MP who was removed from Paul Martin's cabinet (fired) for speaking out against Bush. Just recently she was on the TV show Royal Canadian Air Farce and was seen stepping on a George Bush doll.

Anyways, the whole point of my rant is this.... Tucker Carlson is a shame to his country. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any actual media of this little face off, but I have a few tidbits of what this moron actually said. These aren't direct quotes but they are as close as possible to what I remember him saying.

'We don't need you.... you need us. Without the support of the US, Canada would be more akin to say Honduras except a lot less interesting and probably a lot colder.'

'Of course we exploit your resources, it's not like you have any military power to prevent us from doing so'

'Canadians are uneducated about world issues becasue they're too busy dog sledding to really care.'

There was a lot more but I'm really not remembering them all. I'm sure that a lot of what he said was to attempt to get a rise out of Parish. He couldn't possibly believe all of what he said. Parish managed to hold her own in this conversation pointing out that it would be a dark day in California if we cut off the power they get from us. She also pointed out that 80% of what we export to the USA is raw material that they most likely wouldn't be able to get anywhere else.

I guess the thing that pissed me off the most is the fact that this broadcast was seen mostly by Americans and all it accomplishes is to affirm to them that Canadians are reclusive, uneducated Eskimos. If anyone can find any video of this it'd be awesome.... I'm still looking but I'm not having any luck.

This man is a DICK. There's no question about it. Even other republicans think he's a dick. If he starts slamming Canada other Americans are just going to point at him and laugh at his continued stupidity.

Jon Stewart gave this guy the biggest verbal ass whooping I've ever seen on TV and that was justice enough for me. (My personal favorite part was when he refused to be his monkey. That made my day)

Good job answering the question buddy! Personally I'd be more concerned that some little war monger like this guy could become president of the US and go around invading soveriegn nations with out provocation... Oh shit!

i try not to watch crossfire, except the occasional time i do happen to catch it.

the show is just bullshit, the equivalent of political puke if you will, just a notch above rush and coulter.

btw: i love how americans say we should kiss their asses for the 'protection'. first of fucking all, just when was Canada threatened? cold war? sure, but you're gonna tell me the u.s.s.r. had the capabilities to launch a frickin full on ocean crossin' invasion? riiiiiight. as for lately, the states are just making this continent a lot bitchier to live on. yea thanks but no thanks. or when they imply they would take us over, are we supposed to be happy you protect us from yourselves? fuck off.
