Greedy JERK!

Yesterday, my company laid off over 40 employees - TWO weeks before Christmas. How heartless can you be?? Don't get me wrong, I understand that sometimes layoffs just need to happen (some of the people who were laid off deserved the boot anyway), but why now? Couldn't they have done it earlier? Or wait until after Christmas? Now people have gone out and bought gifts that they thought they would have the income to pay for. They come to work as they have for years and *wham* - two days, you're out. Goodbye, thanks for comin out.
The company I work for is not that big. Everyone is really close, so this impacts people a lot. I am so mad at the owner. He is a "Christian" and all about "values" and useless shit like that. F*cking jerk, all he cares about is himself and his capital...
Many of the people he laid off are my friends and have been for years. They have children, some have just themselves.
My company donates and does all this shit for the community. Posers. Maybe they should take that money and take care of the employees that make the company what it is. I understand they needed to lay people off but how much more scrooge can you get?????
Our company Christmas party is tomorrow night. I don't even feel like going anymore. I mean f*ck, what kind of celebration do they think this is going to be now? I want to go though to eat the food and drink the wine that my company paid for, just to get back at them. I want to throw the food at them.
Good for nothing, self serving, capital based, don't give a shit about anything but money MEANIES! I love how he drives around in his Lincoln Navigator, all black with its tinted windows. I love how he jet sets around the world doing "ministry work". BARF
I have lost all respect. Laying off people that you under pay two weeks before Christmas! BAA HUMBUG!

In North America everyone thinks that your success is measured by material things - This guy's Navigator is a good example - hes got no balls - the Navigator does all the talking, especially when he cuts you off with his personalised license number.

LOL a BAD business man, Canada is full of em - whats funny is he's prolly in dept up to his eye balls like most of these people - I don't know how people are living like they do?? He might be in contention to committ suicide soon, there are people who kill themselves every day but we don't get to here about it - the media hides it. Its one of the leading causes of death in our society, never mind cancer and car accidents.

Living out side your means is "the dream" that is fed to us through media - I got two diplomas in media, because I wanted to change the way it works - its a lonely battle trying to sway opinion!

God bless those that god laid off - I just got a job - time to get agressive in the job search - investigate the industry that you intend to do business with = is there a strong future?

that's a much stronger statement than going on the internet and bitching to the world about what a big meanie your employer is.

The company I work for had to do the same 3 years ago a few weeks before christmas because we were far too close to becoming bankrupt. We went from 40 employees to 12. Aslo like the company you work for we are like a family, so it was really hard on everyone. In our situation it had to be done. Unfortunately since we were under credit protection, we were not liable to pay employees the two weeks in lieu of notice. It was a horrible horrible day.

If he is laying people off because of greed, that's a shame and I agree atleast do it after Christmas!

I bet you will see a lot of em back in comming months a lot of companies with massive work crews lay people off around the holidays cause of the abundance of Stats and the fact that some want it off anyways besides really there aint much shit to do during the holiday season at work.. I know my place is working half crews for the holidays. All of our major accounts are basicly shut down, union shops all shut down, shipping companies shutdown.. Give it 2 months most will be back..
