grrr... this sucks

i wanna know what he at least THINKS is wrong with me and he has NO clue...

and i cant for the tests today cause i have to have an empty stomach...and the tests will take at least 3 days...which means i wont know until after the weekend

heh, I went for allergy testing yesterday...
they put like 8 tape lines on my back, with like 8 squares on each tape.
Anyways, I can't find out what I'm allergic till tommorrow.
atleast it's one more day but my back is so ichy right now.
I don't know if it's cause of the squares on the tape, or because of the tape itself or a placebo... either way, it's driving me crazy. I want to know what's wrong with me :(

they used tape for your allergy testing?

what they did for me was they used a small area on my arm and they pricked me with a needle, each dipped into a certain type of allergen. if there's an allergic reaction a small red bump will come up.

awe..that sucks Krista...I hate it when somethings wrong with you and the doctor can't tell you whats worng....I mean you feel like SHIT but nothing can me done.

yeah john, they used tape.
I know what you're talking about though. I thought that was what they were originally going to do but they told me that was for other types of allergies.

but yeah, there are these 1cm x 1cm squares with gels on them, on these strips of tape and to be honest, I don't know if it's 8 or not, it's hard to see your back... I don't even know if it's supposed to react or not, they just told me I had to wear it for 2 days and I couldn't get any water on them.

That happened to me a year ago! I was really sick for 4 months when I really shouldn't have been.

So, I got another Dr and he rocks!

well my doctors really good, but he just cant figure out whast wrong

it could be at least 3 things...maybe more

and none of them are fun.... its just kinda nice hvaing some kind of indication...

so now i have to go in for like 7 different tests...and then wait until he gets them back....as much as i dont want them to come back positive...i would like to at least know what im dealing with cause i know something aint right

it is the worst.
iin grade10 i was sick for a ridiculous amount of time, and all they did was keep giving me different types of anti-biotics = killing usefull bacteria in my body = something called thrush = intense pain, waking up in a puddle of my own blood.
i hated doctors that year, and i still hold some resentment. since i got scarlet fever 2 years ago, my doctor doesnt fuck around. its much better now.

best of luck on your results, and although it sounds kinda mean, i hope it comes back clear and your confussed for a little bit, but find out it was nothing but a phantom sickness. positive results on medical tests are not fun.

i think a lot of people fail to realize that doctors dont always have an answer. its sort-of gotten to the point where people go to the doctors expecting them to tell them something's wrong and if they dont the patient leaves disappointed.

it totally did.
there was one point that i thought i was going crazy i was so hot - breaking my fever - i pulled out all the frozen veggies and made a bed out of them.
and the not being allowed to leave the house thing fucking sucked. i wasnt even allowed to leave my basement.

the worst was the after effects. my hair thinned out alot, and never really came back. and the skin peeling thing was disgusting.

thats why I gave up on doctors...too many times too many doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong(the last one sent me for an MRI thinking I had a tumor...found out later if was just really bad migraines.) So...I figure...unless its bleeding profusely...I don't really need to see a dr no more.

On the other hand though...my condolences to you in your time of uncertainty...i hope that you get good answers soon.

a twist of irony...
so, I got the tapes off my back today.
Turns out, one of the squares went red so that means I'm allergic to something.
Only problem is that they lost the file on which I'm allergic to...
so I won't be able to find out for another week.

my hair dresser told me it was my diet, and lately ive eaten healthier then ever. my doctor said that it can be permanent. it sucks. and i dont know when you had it, but i found that 3 and 6 months after, my skin peeled again.

no i was talking about how long i've been having symptoms for whatevers wrong with me this time

i had scarlet fever when i was in grade 6 so .... 11 years ago

goddamn...

so i got some of my bloodwork done, and i phoned today and the receptionist was able to tell me that one of the tests came back negative (as that one was contagious i kinda had to know)

buuuut....she cant tell me what the other ones said...all she could say was

"well as soon as the doctor reads the charts he'll decide if he needs to talk to you or you need to go for more tests..."

grrr
