adsl and torrents

so maybe it's my computer (i really do hate this p4), or maybe it's my internet or router, or maybe i'm just having horrible luck with torrents.

i really don't know, but i can't get anything via torrent and it's really annoying. lately it just hasn't worked AT ALL. no matter what torrent i'm trying to get.

what client are you using and where do you go to find the torrents?

What are you looking for? If it's music you're going about it all wrong. Torrents are pretty horrid for music.

I find PLENTY of music thorugh torrents Dave. You just need to know where to look.

AS for you Cheryl, have you tried changing your listening port? Most clients have a default port, I can't honestly remember the number, that is used. A lot of torrent sites now block that listening port as to avoid tracking. Try putting your port to a really high number that it less lieky to be tracked and is not blocked by the sites and trackers.

I think mine is set at 48352....up into the 40,000's or so. Also, try checking out the faq section on the site and they may give you tips on a better port to use. That's how I knew to change mine!

yeah i use adsl too and get some great speeds. change the ports like suggested, worked for me.
