why does this allllways happen to me?

okay this is the third time i've got a book that this has happened in.

i was just reading my copy of The Dark Tower 5 (which i got for christmas 2003) and i get to page 230 and then suddenly it's page 269. i flip forward and realize that the publisher repeated pages 269-300 twice and neglected to put in pages 230-269 because of that mistake.

since the book was bought in 2003 i can't return it (plus my mom wrote something in the margin for me)

i guess i'm going to chapters today to pick up the softcover of the same book (this one is in hardcover)

always check page numbers before you buy!

Its defective. just send it in to the publisher (phone first) and im sure they'll replace it.

but seriously, how hard is it to count! they should hire smarter people to do minimum wage factory labour.

yeah, i could send it back...but that would take a long time. plus, i would lose out on the thing my mom wrote inside the book.

also, here's the thing with stephen king and me: i love him and collect all his books anyway (hardcover and softcover) so i was going to have to buy the softcover anyway of this book for my collection (yes, i know i'm a dork). i'm just pissed because i was in the middle of reading it. i'll keep this defective hardcover for my bookshelf purpose only.

i have my harry potter 5 that is fucked up still and i returned my copy of Neil Gaiman's American Gods to chapters (i didn't even need a receipt for the exchange)

It's never happened to me....until today.

It's a textbook of all things. Pg. 145-176 are all BLANK WHITE PAGES

Stupid $60 text. I've written a lot in it as it is a textbook, so i don't know if i can return it????

that's weird. i've never had that happen to me before. now i'm tempted to check all the unread books on my bookshelf, and i know i'll be checking anything i buy now.
