Yeah it was all retarded, I was working over a separable DE and next thing you know a stupid underdamped system jumped in who was driven by 1000 cos(10x).

Bah, don't worry about stepping up to matrices too much. It doesn't change things all that much. The difference is, where you were working with one equation before, now you are working with a linear system of them.
