Went Snowboarding...

So I went to Sun Peaks yesterday to go snowboarding because they were having a Customer Appreciation Day and it was free lift tickets for those in the fraser valley area... First off, it took us about 3 hours to get there (its a little past kamloops and we were following someone who drove pretty slow) and when we got there, there was barely ANY snow. After about 1/2 the day it started snowing hardcore, and so we left at 1pm 'cuz I had to be at work at 5pm. Apparently during the time we were there about a foot of snow fell and it took us almost 5 hours to get home, doing 50km almost the entire way because it was SOOOO slippery. We ended up following a snow plow for most of the way as well. Apparently the driving conditions were so bad, that right after we left there was an 18 car pileup on the coquilhala. I ended up being an hour late for work, it was sooo horrible. I love snowboarding, but man do I HATE driving in the snow!!!

That blows.......glad you guys got home safe.......was there any reprecutions at work or did they understand?

he was OK about it...even though one of the other waitresses called in cuz they couldn't come to work - so he was 2 ppl down... but it was pretty slow, so he didnt mind. i still felt pretty terrible tho... and ya, i am glad we got home safe too, it was pretty scary :S

ya, corey and chris and their dad went... they left at like 4pm and it took them 6 1/2 hours to get home... i felt pretty sorry for them, that woulda sucked

definately....it woulda almost been worth it for them to stay up there for the night

I gotta hit the slopes again soon...haven't boarded in a few years.
