I have a cd and i need to know one of the tracks. All that i have for information on the cd is the cue file. I never use these files and dont know what to do with them. Is there any programs that i can use to get info off of the file. whats the deal? anyone?

Sometimes people are lazy to write the track titles and artists in the cue file and just write the times where the mix should be split when burned...

i thought dj's did that becuse they don't want people finding out what tracks they are using on their mixes. so they are the only ones with the good tracks and no one else can have them.

Why would anyone want to hide the names of tracks? If you made it all the way to making a cue file (which almost no one ever does), then you might as well write the tracks in it, it's not that hard. Howerver, because it takes way longer, that's why some people skip that step. If they don't write their track names, then they have something to hide or they are just lazy.

^ In the case of hiphop djs, the hiding of track names was part of the digging culture where DJs would find that one rare-as-hell break after months of digging and wanted to horde that record to themselves as a distinguishing or "signature" track or break.

It's pretty silly tho...
