EQing in cubase

Could somebody give me a brief run down of EQing , it seems to be the only thing that is pickin my brain about the beats I make, I haven't learned much about eqing.

Either that, or direct me to a good tutorial with pics and descriptions , I'm either finding crap that wants me to pay 20 bux, or a really old tutorial that has no good pics n shit.

This thread is pretty helpful. It doesnt have very many pictures though.

You can use the built in cubase EQ, but I'd rather use a VST like Sonalksis or the Waves 8-band EQ.

Sonalksis has a nice colour to it. I love it!

mux is an unknown quantity at this point
Eqium *was* the shit, but then they sold out to Roger Nichols Digital and doubled the price...

I was lucky enough to buy Eqium and Firum before the buyout. *Amazing* EQ plugins - I'm running Eqium on 14 individual channels, in realtime, on a P3-1.3GHz laptop, on like eight audio inputs and six Live loops simultaneously in my live-pa, with no hiccups.
