Tech 1200's mk3 or mk2..

So... I mainly want to use them for Finalscratch for Traktor or serato..... still on ocassion the odd vinyl. which one!

no difference except the pitch reset button and the centre lock indent which is just annoying.

ya I've heard about that... isn't there an easy fix for that on the mk2's though?

also... serato or fs?! I want to use traktor, but I've heard fs is kinda buggy.

go for the mk3's, you can have the pitch detent removed on an mk2 but i don't reccommend it. i know a bunch of people, myself included, who had it done years ago. all of us had problems afterwards with the 'zero' point on the slider drifting from the center position. so as you went past the center, the pitch would suddenly jump up, and then down again, or vice versa.

ed: in regards to fs vs serato, serato seems to be the favorite of DJs of any genre. Look into the M-Audio Conectiv as well, a much lower priced alternative. does Traktor have a turntable interface now? i thought it was just software.

A small adjustment on the other table is all you need to do to get around the centre lock problem. Although I do love the pitch reset feature, you can get MK2s cheaper.

meh, if the pitch indent bothers you that much, just simply knock the playing deck side's pitch up or down a lil bit, it should give you enough room to pitch ride it right? sheesh.

FS uses a version of Traktor.. Traktor FS.
