What's been up with ES? ver. does house music suck now or just me

OK so is it just me, or has petey's essential selection really just sucked this year? Is it house music in general? Is it what he's been choosing? 2006's ES's, especially all the ibiza ones in the summer were fucking fantstic. This year has just been....dry.

So a couple months ago I tried out Annie Mac's mash up. And I haven't gone back to the ES yet. Granted, I saw Pete Tong last year when he came through our town and will gladly see him again whenever he comes back, although I personally find either house music or at least his show boring as hell now.

So what is it? Did house music suck this year compared to 2006 or did I stop caring? What were the huge hits this year?

imo house was better last year too. even the sugar coated tunes that you usually find on es.this year the trend was electro and minimal thats probably why. what type of house are you into out of curiosity?

I find house for the most part is trying purposely not to sound too unrefined or repetitive. Most of the time the lyrics suck too, which is why I stick with dubs or instrumentals.

the first hour, granted, yes. Although his second/third hour stuff used to be good...maybe when they cut the show down to two hours, he had to drop all of the other varieties of house music? I'm not sure.

ha ha, you only get points because it's true. The general consensus is that my oldschool stuff was better, these days it's evident that I've traded any artistic integrity I once had for the trappings of materialism and excess. How do i dig myself out of this maze!?!?
