props. The mortal kombat soundtrack was definitely my introduction to decent electronic music, but i think it all started for me with the cheesey early 90s dance songs like "Mr Vain" and "No Limit"..

word...'mr.vain' and 'no limit' basically soundtracks of my age 11-12 running around actin all 'pre teen' at playland.

actuallly, in the early 90s i was really into the KLF and massive attack...so maybey those were my introductions....fuck who knows.

Dare I say my introduction to EDM was Herbie Hancock's Future Shock album. When I was 2.

But I'm mostly with John. I got into the whole culture with Hackers/MK. My playlist that summer was Ashley MacIsaac, Smashing Pumpkins, The Fugees and Prodigy.

except rawb. there's nothing like the sweet hum of 60 Hz.

some of chris sheppards stuff and other bits here and there of prodigy had me interested in the mid 90s, but it wasn't until i first got to high school in 98, and Underworld's Beaucoup Fish sort of sealed the whole electronica thing.

its because everyone who started listening to "crappy music" was referring to the stuff they listened to when they were small children. As if you were listening to aphex twin when you were in kindergarden, bullshit.

^yep, i started really listening to "rave music" (thats what we used to call it) when I was 12 as well.

ha ha it was all aoubt Superstar Dj Keoki, Dj Irene, that song " The Chase", Kaleidoscope Records. Baically whatever my buddy's older brother was listening to.
and If it wasn't on vinyl, it was on an actual cassette mixtape! lol!!
