Drummatic twins Review

I really enjoyed most of the set. The samples dropped combined with effects realy got me going.

"twisted" by filthy rich and dave london FFs rmx is a decent track but when looking back to how it was played last nite they made it sound more like a work of art.

Acapellas from The streets, Missy, Chemical brothers, Adam Freeland, I Know there was more too!

I would have to say When "We want your soul" was dropped my night was made.

too top it off I talked Nick and Lanx ears off after their set. It feels great to know there is talented artists out there without Enormous egos!!!!!! We talked about everything from 2010 to who they would liek to work with in the future.

I also learned that LANX basically knows the production side of breaks as compared to Nicks djing knowledge Ie; Hot tracks and what not. He was clueless to what has been released in the last couple months and explained that nick usually purchases/receives the records. I understand why he is not all about the new tracks being released as DT seem to have their own style and listening to alot of other breaks would probably have an influence on their production.

Lanx told me to email him and he will get back to me for sure which also made me pretty happy!!

Thnx to twisted for bringing these guys out!!!!!!!!!

meh.
1) most of the records they played were kind of boring. expected a set with more disco flavour.

2) that live pa was a joke. nothing you couldnt do with a 3rd turntable.

Hmm interesting I thought it was balanced out decently. I was expecting more big room stuff like the last few tracks.

I agree I expected more out of that and it kinda makes me think of what uberzone and bassbin will bring out.

But they did lots which a 3rd turntable couldnt do :)

yah true. some of those accapellas dont exist on record.
BUT, i expected something more. Maybe some neat bass sounds, some extra drums here and there...something other then just vocals.

i did like what he did with "we want your soul."

I thought they played very well. Their track selection was older but very classy! at the end of the set before i went on they were droppin traks from back in '94! AWSOME!

its weird cause they're pretty much the same track except "Lucky Ones " has a talking vocal in the build and "Twisted" has that trancey line in the breakdown....

their "live pa" reminded me of that episode of friends when ross was played the keyboards and they were farm animal sounds...

"moooo... meow... CRASH!"

except at twisted they were people saying random things

Most "live" djs do that though so I kinda expected it in a way. I have heard some "Live" hybrid sets and they are for the most part the same. \

The only true live pa i have seen was spacegirl and I have never heard anything like it since. I dont like Acid trance I dont like Rotterdam hardcore but the 1hour or so of acid and 15 minutes of rotterdam made me cringe with goosebumps and the crazy thing was that she created it before our eyes. It was like watching alicia keys trapped in a blonde russians body playing piano to "rave" music.... If that makes any sense

i wasnt impressed at all...nothing special...live PA for me means a bit more than a CDJ-100 and a casio keyboard :kam:

For some real live PA/dj action, try classified 4 tommorow...or Apex, or IMF...or any Pound nite for that matter.

Uberzone is booked for a DJ set, not a live set @ Rhythm Nation...not sure about bassbin though.
