Phono vs. Line?

What are the differences between the two?

the 'phono' channel has a pre-amp in it, because signal coming from a turntable is at a much lower level than other sources like a tape deck or cd player.

ive got my tables plugged into the line of the mixer.. is that ok? im asking because ive got this nifty key-lock feature on my table but it only works with line

^can you hear anything? if it sounds okay, then it's okay...

I don't know what kind of decks you have, but if i plugged my technics into the lines on my mixer, all i'd hear is a very, very faint & tinny signal, and that's only if i jacked the volume up all the way

ya i can hear things fine...

well i dont have any speakers hooked up yet, but when i listen through my headphones it sounds fine.. and i dont have to have the cue volume cranked up super high either

I think they are the TTx-1 tables... You can switch the output from the turntables to be phono OR line... Pretty niffty indeed.

you mean dont plug your cd source to a phono input. :P

yeah i have the ttx-1's as well and that feature is sweet, just make sure that they are line selected on the bottom of them, and then plug into the line of your mixer, if you want to change it then you also have the reconect to the phono of your mixer
