Markus Schulz (prog trance)

Markus Schulz is a true pioneer in the electronic music scene. A dj for over 20 years and a producer/artist for the better part of over 15 years remixing such notable club anthems as "Intuiton"; by Jewel, "The Flying Song" by Luzon, "Breathe" by Telepopmusik, "Bird of Prey" by Fat Boy Slim, "Stage 1" by Space Manoeuvers and "Absolution" by Pablo Gargano. His productions have graced the turntables and mix cds of top DJs around the globe either under his own name, Markus Schulz, or his "Himmel" and "Dakota" monikers. Tracks such as "You Won't See Me Cry", "Lost in Brixton", "Swirl" and "Celebrate Life" have been essentials in all the big djs' record boxes. His original productions have been featured on mix cds by djs such as Armin Van Buuren, John Digweed, Sandra Collins as well as featured on Deep Dish's Global Underground cd.
With a remix career that spanned almost 16 years, Markus has had the opportunity to work with artists like Fat Boy Slim, Miro, Book Of Love, Depeche Mode, Everything But The Girl, Madonna, Blue Amazon, Daniel Ash, and PQM. His remix of "Hello" by Poe hit #1 on the Billboard club chart. Ben Watt of Everything But The Girl says of Markus, "Harder, darker, Markus always delivers up a musically sensitive yet moody monster of a mix." His original productions have been released throughout the world on some of the most respected labels in the music industry like Hooj Choons, Yoshitoshi, Global Underground, Renaissance, Bedrock, EVE, Tide and Skint.

In 1991 Markus launched his own "Plastik Records" imprint and has released 35 singles to date. He takes great pride in working with the artists on his label, developing the talents of Sipping Soma, who's song "Superconscious" was featured on Paul Van Dyk's Politics Of Dancing cd as well as singer/songwriter Carissa Mondavi. Markus and Carissa are currently in the studio working on several new tracks for an upcoming ep.

Markus true love, however, is dj'ing. He has toured the globe playing such notable clubs as El Divino in Ibiza, Spundae in San Francisco, The Guvernment in Toronto, Prologue in London and Space in Miami. His talent behind the decks is legendary. Markus played at the now infamous club The Works in Phoenix for the entire 7 year run. It was here that he took his passion for music and truly developed his skills. During this time, Markus radio mix show "The Edge Factor" was created which ran for 7 years on KEDJ until he left Phoenix for London in 2000.

Now residing in South Florida, after spending the last 2 years in London, Markus has quickly put his mark on the music scene in Miami. His radio show "The Global DJ Broadcast With Markus Schulz" can be heard every Sunday night from 1am-5am on WPYM South Florida's Pure Dance Channel, The New Party 93.1. He is heard hob knobbing it on the airwaves with his regular guests Deep Dish, DJ Tiesto and Timo Maas. The U.S. dance community has labeled his show as "The most important outlet for the global music scene on American radio". Tens of thousand of listeners tune in every week either on the radio or over the internet to hear Markus's live sets from his gigs around the globe and mixes from his superstar DJ guests. It's not really a remix. More of an 'intro edit' of the Andy Moor mix. Great for starting off a set :)

Oh! Hmm, well I was told that it was a remix, but it sounds sweet none the less.

Do you know of anywhere that I could get it off hand?
