Vestax PMC-170A help

I just picked up new channel faders for the mixer in december.

When im mixing in a record and bringing the other channel down. The music seems to to stop when i get a quarter of the way down.

Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

my only advice would be to take out the channel, and give it a good cleaning, que tips work well.
