March 4th marked the debut of the radio show 'Art of
Beatz' each Thursday night at midnight on CFRO. Each
show features DJ¹s, producers, guest touring
artists, with interviews and insight into the world of
electronic music and Vancouver¹s underground scene.

Art of Beatz takes the listener on a ride through
electronic music _from house, breakbeat, drum'n'bass,
and trance, to trip hop, ambient,
abstract, digital world rhythms, and a mutation of sub
genres. Join hosts Eve & Motomasa, Kuma, and DJ
Androgynoid...

ART OF BEATZ Host DJ¹s _

EVE: "I've seen the future," says Annie Sloan of URB
Magazine, about the musical journeys of this lady
selector. Her influences span the
spectrum from ambient to drum'n'bass and everything in
between. Working for over 8 years in non-commercial
radio, she was the producer/host of Atlanta's
influential electronic music show, Planet 8 ('94-'98)
on WRAS, which consistently brought in local,
national, and international talent to
expose audiences to premium, mind opening sounds of
the underground.

MOTOMASA: A veteran of the dance music scene and
pioneer in Ottawa's
underground, he has hosted radio shows on CKCU Ottawa,
CJAM Windsor, and been a featured guest on numerous
stations in and around Atlanta, GA. As a DJ, a
producer, an engineer, and a graphic master,
Motomasa's 15 years of experience in the music
industry speaks through his diverse array of
soulful house, broken beat, and downtempo knowledge.

KUMA: Born in Bristol, England and raised in western
Canada, this self-proclaimed dub terrorist has made a
habit of smashing sound systems through a decade of
intense involvment in the music industry. Founder
of Vancouver artist booking agency, the Konspiracy
Group and part of infamous ambient collective Team
Lounge, his is a sound that rides the edge
through droning ambience and serious amen abuse to
create something rather different, unexpected and
happily ready to shake your head and your
ass. He joins CFRO as the resident drum'n'bass know it
all.

ANDROGYNOID: Formerly the co-host of two late-night
radio shows covering all genres of electronic music,
Roots Massive & MoonBass Alpha, which aired
on KAOS 89.3FM in Olympia, WA. Now he is proud to be
a part of the Art of Beatz, specializing in the
glitch-idm-experimental & global beatz electronic
music. Androgynoid is affiliated with Vancouver crews
Tribal Harmonix Collective, Soldiers of the
Underground, The Ambient Consortium, and his own
BiOnIc LoVe MuSiC. He also plays in two live P.A.
bands, Alchemy & Dojo.

The first lady of Art Of Beatz, Eve, is in the spotlight and she's bringin' us a full two hours of sultry downbeats, a bit of atmospheric drum and bass if we ask nicely and the best hair in Vancouver's DJ community.
