WTF is up with this....

Like 10 different artists have come out with an album titled DJ Kicks.

Is this an inside joke I just don't get or what??

there's actually about 25 DJ Kicks albums.. it's a compilation series put out by the K7! label and some of them are really fucking good. the latest one released last april by erlend oye is definately worth picking up.. K7 is one of the original compilation labels.. they're responsible for the original x-mix series which has achieved somewhat legendary fame. i just saw the first one mixed by paul van dyk in 1993 go for something like $70 on ebay. that's a lot of money for a cd.. yikes.

my favorites: Nightmares On Wax & Playgroup. The Kruder & Dorfmiester one is a classic as well, although i find it sounds a little dated...
