Technics SL-150MK2s

Anyone ever used these? They sort of came in and out it seems. These are the old, direct-drive digital tables that, apparently, a bunch of DJs hated and a bunch of DJs loved in the 70s when they came out. My father just picked two up for fun and excitement from one of his friends, and wants to see if they're as decent as he remembered.

They're the ones that don't come with a tonearm.

They look pretty neat. He's trying to fit them with nice arms and cartridges, but he's gotta wait till he has them in-hand to find out exactly what he's dealing with.

Yo,

These turntables were the radio station standard turntable. The pitch is digital and it goes up and down similar to that of the numark ttx with the digital read out... Pretty cool table but its hard to move the pitch quickly...

Yeah, I heard that they were low-end broadcast tables. Seems like they were decently popular among vancouver DJs in the late 70s too.

Something about + and - buttons rather than a slider seems kind of unfortunate, though.
