Chevelle - This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)

WOW... the new album is ace and sounds really good but for anyone who has heard it..... HOLY TOOL COPY!!!!

They are sounding more and more like Tool with every release, not that I'm complaining much becasue it sounds great.

Yeah it's super good. I mean I'm not saying that they're a carbon copy of Tool or anything but you sure can hear it.... both vocally and instrumentally.

CodaDrummer is on a distinguished road
Hmm, I'm gonna have to check it out, cause I love Tool.

I don't remember what the name of the song is, but they are featured on Madden 2005's soundtrack. I'ts not bad... not Tool like though.

This album is fucking amazing...and I hate most music that comes out these days.

I have it in my Cd player in my car....and listen to it constantly on the PC.

I recomend it for sure.

thier latest singel i thought was realeasd by maynard as a solo project...when the radio guy said it was chevelle i was like ''wait just a fucking minute"

i was really into their last singe "the pain below" or something like that...that was a big tune for me last year.

wtf this sounds exactly like tool style of rock
"emotional drought" how he sings in the chorus.. same style of singing as maynard... even the recording of his voice sounds similiar and how he screams too in this track... interesting.. i might like this after further listening. way better then that weird rock shit i keep seeing on muchmusic, i dont even wanna know what the bands are called...but it was all they played in london 2 years ago on the pop rock radiostations..

I knew people would see things my way!! hahaha

Vocally it sounds a lot like Tool, instrumentally as well. You can hear it from the first track to the last. Granted that its not like the ENTIRE album is a rip off. I wouldn't even go so far as to say rip off as heavily influenced by......

Well, i guess im in the minority here. Tool just seems a little more experimental , and no so formulaic in there song structure. Kind of like chevelle's complicated cousin. Regardless of their influence, it's great to havea current band releasing new work that doesn't suck. Kam I know exactly what you mean about the new rock coming out that yu see on much. I listen to the fox ever day at work and everytime they talk about "the new buzz band" and they play a song.....I'm really dissapointed.
