Old electronica movie soundtracks

When I was going through my stuff after getting broken into this week, I found the cases for The Saint and Hackers soundtracks.

I think those two albums probably had more to do with me liking electronic music than any other.

Ah, memories!

Mortal: Kombat had Orbital's Hacyon & On & On, the Juno Reactor Instrumental of Traci Lords' Control, Juke Joint Jezebel by KMFDM and of course the classic Mortal Kombat theme....

There is some electronic music in Das Boot - pretty cool stuff for the time.

Excellent German U-Boat movie from about 1980.

It wasn't about accuracy though, it was about style. Although technically it was wrong on many levels, a lot of the fundamentals are reasonably solid. They got into the Gibson via social engineering (guessing the password based on personal style), the "viruses" they uploaded were somewhat sound theoretically although the implementations looked flaky, etc. "The pool on the roof has sprung a leak" rocked.

I loved it despite its flaws, as did you apparently.

The Hackers soundtrack from what I remember is really good. I thought "Connected" was the shit back in the day, still like it now.

That soundtrack introduced me to Prodigy and Underworld, which may very well be responsible for my raving career in general.... sort of....

Yeah. Killer soundtrack that Hackers one.

Also: Trainspotting. Similar style to Hackers, but later.... A Bedrock track, an Underworld track that got far more popular (Too bad, cuz I really don't like it as much as Cowgirl), and a bunch of other nice little treats. And Elastica can never really serve you wrong either.

Oh and if you wann see what Atari was up to when they had jaguar ads on tv watch these tracks and listen to the music. Check out the one with Bill Clinton in it http://www.cyberroach.com/jaguarcd/commercl.htm

And if you like old skool hardcore search for jaguar Tempest 2000 soundtack and listen to it. http://justclaws.atari.org/jagudome/t2kcd.html some of those tack are also on the game :) aznd this is on a video game from 1994 :)

I still have my Jaguar with Tempest 2000

The MK Soundtrack was great. While I got it for the EDM (of course) I rather enjoyed the metal music it featured; even got into Fear Factory and Type O Negative because of it.

Heck, even the movie itself was rather good... For a video game adaptation, anyways.

Still, who here remember the Sliver soundtrack which Enigma contributed towards? Similarily, Strange Days had Deep Forest contribute a bunch new material to go along with that soundtrack, with a material from Tricky Lords Of Acid, amongst others.
