is there a way to actually program your grace notes? or do you just have to record it with your midi controller?

Yes, you can edit all midi information thru a matrix editor, to adjust volume, just increase or decrease the note velocity.

its like a fancy addition to a phrase but isnt counted towards the full notation value of the bar, its printed smaller in written music so you can identify it.

Grace notes are mainly used in Swing, or shuffle like grooves....great to use on hi hat tracks
