It’s almost that time of the year again, where the public get to nominate their favourite DJs in the world’s most important DJ poll.

Voting starts for DJmag’s Top 100 DJs Poll right here on this website on Friday 19th August at 00.01 HRS (GMT).

So until then, you’re just going to have to start thinking back to your best dancefloor moments and your favourite clubbing nights of 2005.

As always, to celebrate the launch of our Top 100 DJs Poll, we’re throwing a free bash.

It’s at London’s AKA bar (next to The End nightclub) on West Central Street, and takes place the night before voting begins - Thursday 18th August.

Tim Sheridan, Paul Woolford, and Giles Smith will be DJing, and there will be some freebie Top 100 Launch issues of DJmag floating about too.

DJmag staff will be there, so if you’ve got any gripes about last year’s results, or fancy laughing at our editor’s outlandish behaviour (last year Paul Arnold from Chew The Fat dropped her on her head), come on down and say 'hello'.

Tiesto will win it again. It's no surprise he's doing his Tiesto In Concert tour in the US right when the voting is starting. After all, most of the votes came from America last year so he needs to get his name out there as much as possible to retain his top spot. The moment he looses it, he'll go the way of Oakenfold.

I don't think tiesto will go the way of oakenfold, I mean look at the difference between the two. Tiesto isint a staggering drug addicted prick who sells out to doing commercials and movie soundtracks.

he's deffinately the most mainstream DJ. i couldn't even imagine how much bling that guy shovels every day.
oh and he has Perfecto in one pocket too. So how can you even argue that he's nowhere close to being the richest dj?

while Tiesto and the other big names sell millions of records every year

I know how much he charges and I know how much the others do, sales from 1 release can be more then he can make from gigs in a year

I'd doubt that he sells millions a year. But i know for a fact that he sells tens of thousands (only) for singles.

hehe. Well I'm not disputing, or putting trance down in any way.
I reckon that there is a huge market for trance, and that there are gazillions of fans out there.

I don't mind seeing Tiesto win every year. But i sure as hell don't think he's the best dj (nor anywhere near it). but that's when subjectivism comes in play.

I represent artists who are signed to these labels, I look at the numbers, I know who sells how much and how much they get out of it

Trust me, Tiesto sells MILLIONS of records every year
just because trance isnt huge in Vancouver doesnt mean its the same on other sides of the globe

Well I found my decision making criteria kept leaning toward/factoring which DJ's have made a pretty damn good contribution to trance music production in the last year. I kept thinking this isn't a production poll, but then again, what would DJ'ing be without production?! So eff it! That's how I voted!

How is the poll unfair?
we have our parties which max at like 5 thousand whereas theres max at around the 6 figure range.
