Britney Spears... good?

Is the world coming to an end? I just got a "Britney Spears - Remixed" record from the pool I am in, which has a bunch of new Britney remixes, and they are actually GOOD!

Specially noteworthy are the remixes of "Breathe On Me" by the man himself, Jacque Lu Cont, and the Justice Extended mix of "Me Against the Music".

Is the fact that Madonna, and I'm gonna guarantee you Britney's next, is all over the electro a sound reminder that electro is going to be on the way out as of next year?

I always said the only Britney record I'm ever going to own was the Felix Da Housecat remix of Toxic.... but after hearing this remix rekkid I might change my rule.

but I don't want electro to be on the way out ... *tears*... electro and I are just getting to know each other, and are very much enjoying each other's company.

But seriously, Miss Kittin who was one of the key people who brought back electro declated it "done" a year or so ago.. she is spinning "Techno" at all her DJ gigs now apparently :-) oooooooOOO! :) I am not sure how much that is going to change what I play (probably not much :-)

Oh, and Madonna using Mr. Lucont is nothing new... remember that wicked remix of Madonna's Hollywood I used to play (over which Mr. Ishkur drooled so many times) a couple years ago? That was a Thin White Duke mix... so yeah, I am guessing Madonna liked his remix work on that track (among Mr. Price's various other work) so much that she hired him for this one.

But back to Britney and good mixes: you should all check out the Peter Rauhafer (aka Club 69) dub remix of Me Against the Music that also came out a couple years ago... totally not the typical Club 69 gay circuit remixes that I have come to expect of Mr. Rauhaufer. This one is dirty dirty electro.... sooo goood!
