honest opinions about capital j

So, I got someone that wants me to bring capital j out here with him...
not too sure i want to be doing that, especially since capital j is asking for the same amount as john b!

I am looking for honest opinions on what you think of this guy.

we have slowley been starting it up for 3 weeks. right now it is just come and chill, listen to dope music, no cover and $1.50 drafts and $2 highballs!

the first two wednesdays rocked! nice turnouts.

last wednesday was autobots at tokyo lounge, so we didnt do much for our night.
its getting good though. SO much potential! next wednesday will be good, come early and by pass cover. its a really good place to meet dj's and promoters and get to know us.
there are 2 rooms, soon we will be opeing the second room,
and fridays we will be doing breaks and drum and bass upstairs starting in mid december!

cap J will bring out the ravers but most of the hardcore dnb headz probably won't care.

he's a good dj as far as skills go, but personally i can't stand the tunes he drops. Better DJ for a party or rave than a club i think.

yeah ky i would probably try to bring someone else out! mofo-x is right...he's not a club kinda dj! last he was here it was only $5 at tribeca and it was pretty packed but i've seen it more packed and that was on a friday! but a couple years back he played a plaza party and people were going off! he's just created a bad rep for himself this last couple years............but he can fuckin' tear it up on the decks no doubt!

ya i agree with all of you!

personally i dont like him that much.
i dont really like booking dj's with big attitudes (i cant spell...) I would rather promote chill people and enjoy hangin with them while they are here.
although, i have not met capital j, i dont mean to jump to conclusions, but he hasent been all that nice to alot of people i am close too.
But working with partners, you dont alway have a choice.
he thinks the show will do good... i say yes if this was 2003.

So what we have desided is, he is possibley going to bring Capital J out, and I got my own acts coming January 4th! keep an eye out for it this week!

huh, this isnt really a "he is coming thread"
its asking what people think of him, i get such a wide range of feedback on him. I just want to be able to show this to the guy wanting to book him.

Honestly? Capital played.

I remember the first time I saw him I was probably blown away, but having the same old dj's come in and play the same old tracks and show off the same old tricks every time gets tired...especially if you are considering bringing the guy to a club, everyone who is of age has seen enough of him four or five years ago.

heh you got me wrong. I'm just saying what i think of him. If he were coming, i probably wouldn't even give it a second thought is all i'm saying. I personally wouldn't go but i'm sure there are some people who would attend. :)

he's like one of those hip hop club acts... even tho the same hip hop night is running with a dj from cali, toronto or florida, cover is still the same. kuz anything more won't get much attention.

I have seen J at many raves over the years. Never a club night though.
He is a F&^Kin sick DJ, Period. In my opinion his skillz Behind the decks would thrash John B.
If your lookin for money, go with John B. If you wanna put alot of smiles onto the faces of Vancouver Junglists go with J.
